Hey Guys!
Just looking to see who's interested in the Spring League. The Winter league will be wrapping up and I'll be anouncing final player positions at the next club meeting. Should we make any changes to it? Additions? More games/less games, rules, more structured bonding etc?

I'm definetly interested. I'd like to see more games per week (maybe 3-4) and definetly more structured bonding. Other than that I really had a blast this league and I want to thank you again for putting it together!

If i was going to be here for it I would participate but I dont think I will be. It was fun though...I agree about the bonding thing. Thanks John for running it, keep up the good work man.

I'm in for Spring league. Yeah, I think more games per week, maybe. Perhaps some kind of less restrictive challenge system too, as many people had trouble getting together for their games during the week. Otherwise, ditto- lots of fun.

At the meet we'll go over a better method for games. I have a real fear that people with free time will just crush people without it, as they can play more games. I do like how the challenge system worked, even if we don't carry it through I thought it was fun. Glad to see there's some interest though.

I would definitely think that you would have to put a limit on games cause otherwise the clear winner will be the person who has no life...not trying to be mean...but the person with less shit going on in their life will win the tournament because they can play whenever, no hassles...where people who have jobs, school, relationships and such have to do those things plus find time for games. I dunno the two game limit wasnt horrible...but could be increased to like 3 or 4 but anymore and certain people will have advantages...Summer league could be different as people should have more free time...but spring league is gonna be rough for fitting in games as the first two weeks of it are the weeks people are studying and taking finals.

Not me. Warmachine won't be my thing for a while probably...but the winter league was still fun.

Here are teh decisions we made for the Spring League:
Total Number of games playable per week: 3 Challenge system: bottom up Max points: 750 pts Hordes incorporation: same pairings as winter league Same Faction Matches: random book mission Bonding: Record bonds on record sheet per week. Check for new bonds after each game. Start Date: April 26th (thursday) Skip week: May 3rd (for finals)
Challenges will be made in the same fashion as the winter league. The guy at the bottom gets first call on who he fights. PP will not be incorporating Hordes into league play till the next league YEAR, so the pairings I made are going to stay in affect till 2008. However, a warmachine player may play a Hordes player of his 'faction'. In this event you'll play a random mission from the book. Weather affects and bounties will still apply.
The league will start as schedualled, however we will be skipping league week two to allow for finals. We'll pick up week two after finals.
I talked to PP and found out that the Warmachine/Hordes league won't start till next year, like I said before. Bummer, I know. They WILL be doing a hordes/warmachine league in the middle of the summer though, sort of like a mini league (just a 6 week deal in the middle of the current league year.) I'll get you guys more info on that one when I find out.
We should have about 8 guys or so for the spring league. I'm glad that most of you had a good time with the winter league and I look forward to seeing how Spring goes!

I would prolly say 3 games, 2 wasnt too bad...but 4 in a week with school and work is pushing it. I know, I was at the meeting but was in the middle of a game. I like the rest of the rules as is. Some of the scenarios kinda blew, but it was fun overall...warpwolf in the lake!

Well I just read the missions for this league...and they are the same as the winter league...they even still have that 4 hill one...dang it. Oh well it will be fun anyways despite Privateers lack of imagination in their league missions.

Yeah, there is a little imagination missing from their choice for scenarios... Let's see... Two opposing forces will be pit in a battle over a muddy circle in the center of the battlefield for... some reason. Let's try to justify this unrealistic scenario with a paragraph of poorly written fluff!
Warmachine is fun and all, but it excersizes ALOT of suspension of disbelief. They will invent a game mechanic that is often fun and challenging, and then half-assedly work it into the flavor text of the character. Most of the shit that goes on in the game does not have a tangible, imaginable function in the fluff. It is still fun though.

Agreed...it is fun...I was just hoping for new missions...instead of the same stuff with a new paragraph of how the forces are meeting in this area that is spring oriented.
Winter example of mission: With the blistering cold Khador forces hope to search out menites in the hilly region and show them the true might of khador.
4 hill scenario- take 3 and hold for 3 consecutive turns
Spring example of mission: With the fresh tulips exploding from the earth Khador forces hope to search out menites in the hilly region and show them that the might of khador is still mighty.
4 hill scenario- take 3 and hold for 3 consecutive turns

I hate the holding for 'consecutive' turn missions. It can be reset by a single unit, leading it to really be kind of nonsensical.
