As some of you may know I am entering the fantasy team tournament with another frankfort member (James). I am using my brets. This is going to be a running thread on their progress.

Just recently. I am getting some battalion boxes for extremely cheap so I decided not to pass it up.

From one of my friends in the Morris area. He had five battalion boxes which normally ring for 90$ each and he is selling them to me for 50$ each. He might have some other stuff once I find out I will let you guys know.

Adam how would you suggest making lily pads and putting them in water effects. I was thinking of just using a hole puncher to make them and painting them and putting them on top of water effects. Would that work?

That is actually a good idea. You might want to take a dry pen or something and draw the 'veins' into it, to add a little detail, otherwise that sounds like a solid idea. I have never done it before, so I would have to think about it.

Everywhere I've read, that's exactly how they do lilly pads. Can't wait to see them.
Oh, and welcome to the chivalrous land of lance-formation whoop-ass!

Well I have actually been working on this slowly...damn you Warhammer Online and alcohol, consuming my life. So here are some pics of the scenic bases for the pegasus knights. Water effects are on there, pictures dont show it well but in person you can see it better. The bases have to be cleaned a little bit but other wise they are done. Also almost have one unit of men-at-arms done will post when they are.

Wow- those look awesome! Did you use cork on the rocks? Really good looking bases.
I like the rocky ones better than the straight-up water one, but maybe that is just the picture. It probably looks cool as a unit too.
Come to DeKalb and game.

Yeah the rock is cork.
I also like the rock ones better than the water one but I wanted each base to be different while representing the same thing...so they all look like they are flying over the edge of a lake. The rest will have rock in them in some way all slightly different. Have to do two more.
I will try to get out there as soon as possible and I will definitely be up there for 4yr Anniversary...so Late Feb/Early March at the latest, hopefully sooner though.

Pretty! Puts my basing to shame; but then, I never really did care about my basing.
You probably don't care for the paint scoring details, but I'll give you them anyway:
Team Composition and Theme: 25 points total. Each team will be judged on team theme and composition by AdeptiCon Team Tournament Fantasy Judges. Team Theme will be given 10 points and Team Composition will be given 10 points. A portion of each score will be awarded via checklist. The remainder is up to the judge's discretion. This is to allow for teams to be awarded for thinking outside the box and not limiting the scope of what is awarded for theme and composition. Appearance: 25 points total. Appearance will be judged via Checklist as follows:
Two Separate judges will judge each army on the first 8 Painting categories.
- The army is ENTIRELY painted to a three color minimum standard. - The army looks like a cohesive force. - The army is colored in a pleasing and consistent manner. - The army uses highlighting or shading techniques to add depth and lighting to the models. - Character models and army centerpieces stand out. - Time was taken to paint the details of the models/units to bring out the individuality of the army (i.e. gems, lenses, ribbons, etc). - The units of similar models are similarly painted but recognizable as belonging to different units - The army is in the top 25% of armies represented at this tournament.
All Painting Judges will be involved in the last 2 Painting Marks. - The army is in the top 10% of armies represented at this tournament. - The army is THE top army represented at this tournament.
The Last 5 Points are for Miscellaneous Appearance - All models have basing material or paint - All models are based in a consistent or cohesive manner - Some Models have been converted or dynamically posed. - Some models have extensive and intricate basing. - All models have extensive and intricate basing.

Just Updating this. Finshed the paint scheme on knights horses (the knight themselves will match) it is a crusading army so the will all be painted the same theme. I apologize for the blurriness dont have the best camera for this close up stuff. UNIT PAINTING STATUS:Knight Unit is 40% Done Men-At-Arms is 70% Done Skirmish Archers 0% Done Archer Unit 25% Done Pegasus Knights 20% Done Heroes (2x) 25% Done

Well, my big criticism on the base would be the picture quality... try to get a better picture up so I can check it out.
As for they archers, they look really nice. I really like the palisades.
