I've been reading some of my old White Dwarfs, around the time of Storm of Chaos (294ish), and I thought how cool it'd be to do the Archaon mission. As in, I get 2000pts, and the chaos player gets 4000pts, and I have to somehow kill half of their army before I die. I never got the chance to play it before, and I know some people have chaos armies for fantasy. Maybe if they don't have enough points then they can band together to make a right sized army. That'd be awesome.

off the top of my head the only other person who played Chaos in warhammer was Ian and he's 100% incognito this semester due to academic work overload, or so he told me. so the white dwarf idea taken literally probably can't fly at NIUMGC unless you make a few tweaks.

It's actually a whole supplement instead of a White Dwarf thing. And I think I'll stick to fighting only chaos. Ian, Ian, Sean, Scott, Justin, Randy, and Aaron all have chaos, so it's merely a matter of gathering some of them together.

You'll have to wait for the new chaos army book to come out, chaos is not a legal army right now, unless you bought that white dwarf with a temp list  . My brother has plenty of points for them and he has played that exact scenario you are talking about, it can be rough for the chaos player if the opponent tailors an all shooting army. |

In fact, I want to say that was the scenario that was ran for our fantasy table at Games Day earlier this year. All I remember was an uber dwarf cannon, and at least twice as many chaos points.

The Last stand scenario and the Archon's horde rules are fairly simular
Archons list they have to kill all defenders and only half of attackers, no turn limit
I personally enjoy scenarios other than pitched battles
most of them are found in the 6th ed book and there are some online, not sure if they re in 7th hardcover book

I should be around next semester, so what say we prepare a game for it? Besides, my Brettonians and their shooting is meh.
I do have that White Dwarf with the interim roolz. And besides, Chaos Mortals is released on November 1st, so it's not like we don't have the rules. Lastly, it's a fun game. It doesn't need tournament legality, just sticking to the originals scenario line.
