Well I'm definitely going, so we'll meet up somehow. I actually don't like the Vulkan model...it's too full or the pose of the spear is blegh...

I think the angle of the picture is what is hurting the model. It looks a little busy and the spear arm looks strange. I like it though...

I dunno man...looks like a floosie to me. A bit too much going on in that model. Great paint job, but I will never get mine looking like that. Plus mine will just be a characetr based on Vulkan for my Obsidian Fist Mercenary Marines themed army. So hes not really that model. Plus that model is not what the picture of him looks like. The flamer is mounted under the gauntlet, not in it. and I dunno. Just a bit toooo much going on. They over did it a bit. Maybe I will pick it up later on.
I still wanna do my converstion.

Upon taking a second look, I can flesh out my complaints on that model: - He's holding his spear like he's about to throw it (check the orientation on the fingers), but he's not winding back, nor is his body in any dramatic "spartan spear chuckin'" pose, he's just standing like a lump. - He seriously looks like he's swimming in all of those cloaks and robes. Like a kid with daddy's clothes on or something. - WTF is up with the parchment/tassle on the spear? It's going up! The sculptor apparently doesn't know about gravity. - His armor. The only parts that match the picture in the codex are the fingers on the Gauntlet and the two extra nubs on the sides of the helmet. Otherwise, it doesn't have a helmet crest, the gorget, the chest piece, the greaves, and the spear and flamer are all totally different! Every other character almost perfectly matches their art in the book. In the art, the flamer is four small nozzles on the outside of the glove, while the sculpt has a huge-ass normal flamer on the inside. It's like they said "Here are his rules, forget about gravity, now sculpt!" "Does he have any art to go off of?" "No, just do it!" - More; the pose is almost exactly the same as Sicarius (which also sucks: - Lastly, the flaming skull on the backpack. That screams CHAOS to me, not loyalist happiness. I don't think saying the sculpt is [glow=red,2,300]absolute fail [/glow]from a realistic and fluff standpoint is sufficient...

I really disagree with all of the negative feedback about Vulcan. I think the model is sharp and has the level of detail that I would expect for a special character. I would agree that the positioning of the spear arm could be better, but I still like the overall design of the model.

I've got to agree with Drew on all points...especially the fact that he looks nothing like previous art. There is just way too much going on.

Heres another shot of the defensive buildings, showing off hard point heavy bolters and a top mounted lascannon + the manditory fire points that should come with a bunker and the walls to be set up infront of them. Looks like a Leman Russ might be able to count as hull down by sitting behind the baracades. Its a little to far away to tell for sure. There apears to be some nature of comformation that the tanks fo the Imperial Guard 2nd wave will come around the same time as Planetstrike, one plastic Demolisher kit and one plastic Hellhound kit. It is assumed that either kit will be able to build atleast three tanks, which will come in the Demolisher kit are up for grabs. Most sites say Leman Russ, Demolisher, Executioner, and Vanquisher, none of which are too unreasonable to expect.

I'm kind of on the fence since reading the info from the French GD. It really doesn't sound like anyone outside of marines is getting anything when the expansion is released. The new terrain is nice, but doesn't inspire me like the CoD terrain. The rules sound interesting and will likely be on my buy list come July.

I'm totally stoked that they're bringing back Attacker/Defender, or really anything more than the standard boring missions we have now. I think the summer tournament could have some influences...hmm...
