I feel like bringing war to our club! This week I'll have 4000 pts of Ultramarines with me in two force charts, lead by Marneus Calgar and perhaps other personalities... If two people want to join up with normal 2000 point armies to get in the way, then speak up! It shall be grand (and have an objective, not just death; don't worry it will be good).
Fighting Chaos would be sweet. Can take any special characters if the requirements are met.

That would work too, but then you and Josh would be limited to half a force organization chart, deciding who gets the 2 of 3 in those categories. That would keep things even. Otherwise sure, I'd like 9 heavy support options too...lol.
I could also do 6000 pts, with 3 charts. That would simply add another player onto the list against me. I don't want to really have more than 4 people if it can be helped. But we'll see who is interested. I could make a really good story driven game about fighting Chaos is why I'd prefer to fight them. Since we have Justin, Glenn, Josh, and Ian doing Chaos now, it could be feasible.

I think you should only field 4000 and the chaos forces can field 5000 or something as you should be outnumbered.

I'm in for this or whatever (see my other thread on 4.27.2006 game).
I just bought a basilisk, so I want a huge game with a huge table.

Well I will throw down with you andrew with my chaos. It is a small fledging list And I will have to proxy the daemon prince. Just let me know what kind of mission objective it is and I will let you know how many points I can do.

Outnumbered? Why? I do like the idea of traitor guard though...hmmm...if there were 2000 of chaos and 2000 of guard that would be interesting. I'd like that! If anything I should have more points because I'm going to be assaulting a city defended by heretics, traitors, and daemons. But not much more, just take what Josh said and flip it around, 5-4. I don't think I'll do that though, it'll probably just stay even. We'll see.

So I should make a 2,000 point guard list?

You should be outnumbered because Space Marines are supposed to be few in numbers...thats the reason...it makes sense that chaos marines with traitor guard would outnumber even an invading space marine group because there are Chaos peeps (traitor guard, Chaos Space Marines, and Demons) then there ever will be Space marines. Your supposed to be the elite of the elite...a thousand pt difference would mean little to the might of the Space marines.

Yea, you can go ahead and do that. Oh, I found out that while your senior hq dude has Ld10 for the commissar, that doesn't translate to the rest of your units. It says it only applies to the unit the commissar is in, unfortunately. So your command has Ld 10, but with the master vox and all the rest only have Ld 9. I would think a traitor army (for this game only =P) would have executed all it's commissars so it could go about without unwanted attention, but I'll leave it up to you. You could also use the Lost and the Damned army list, and spare all the above trouble by taking 3 Chaos Aspiring Champions marine as your HQ, or greater daemon, or what have you...lol. @josh True, but then in all games everywhere the marine player would only get 75% of his opponents total force, or something like that. This is a full retaliation force. Of course there will be numbers, especially since the chapter master is present. He doesn't want his stompy ass flattened when somebody could take the hit for him ;D. He'll have the full weight of his chapter behind him, ready to smash aside this Chaos insurgence. It could be that the marines massed in one spot to take the enemy unawares, so in this one spot in the universe there's going to be a lot of them. That's normal tactics. Although look at the Iron Warriors. They garrisoned captured worlds with just a squad of 10 marines, to run an entire planet. Of course, that was before the heresy, and the populace eventually rose up and killed them I think... And you're just whiny 'cause a tank takes up a quarter of your total points .

not whining more like trying to make marines realistically fit into the 40K world...instead of being the army that every single player plays and if we went by actual armies owned and not fluff...Space Marines would represent 98% of the population of the galaxy with another 1% representing their allies. This is nothing against you Seahawk as you are a fair player and play your army very well which accounts for your wins...more of just a general statement about 40K.

Andrew, are you talking about that one roll in which I had a 10 and I declared I was fine?
Cause, then if I understand correctly, you took it upon yourself to look up the rule later and then inform me in a game you weren't even apart of? That's a little, obsessive.
Also, as far as arguing I couldn't use Commisarrs cause now I'm a traitor guard unit or...whatever. Then isn't Otho's arguments that you should actually behave like the Elite Super Soldier unit the Marines actually are instead of outnumbering us?
If we're all playing via the storyline I mean.

Naw, I thought it was our game. I'm not sure. I didn't know if it had been talked over before, but I wanted to look it up a while ago anyways. It's not just you, it's been other guard players I've played.
Fluff is out the window. I just want a huge game where I actually use the majority of my models damnit! lol. I have 'em all, gotta use them on something... Vic I was merely suggesting that for theme issues, which I don't have all that often.
How about upping it to 5000 each side? That way there can be two 2000 pt players and one 1000 pt player. I would like that. Eh?

If we want a huge game, why not do 6 thousand on 6 thousand, you and someone else with an allied squad and then me, otho and someone else all at 2k a piece?

I am up for the 5000 vs. 5000. I can only field 1000pts so my two allies can each take 2000 each.
Chaos Force so far:
Vic (2000pts of guard) Josh (1000pt of Chaos Space marines) One more slot to fill preferably chaos force of some sort be it traitor guard or Chaos Spcae marines. 2000pts.

Caleb said he'd be up for some gaming too. Whoever we end up having needs to be better in Hand to Hand than I am.

Chaos preference, silly. But if others can't do it, then some very misguided sisters will suffice.
