I've admired Mr. Eyeglow as your avatar for a while. The colors on all your stuff really 'pop,' you work well with high contrasts for a result that really stands out on the tabletop.

Ah, just in time for the new Demons to come out!
I really like the color scheme for the Flamers. You really captured the whole aether-flame, insubstantial thing there. I am trying to figure out a good way to capture that same look in green.

Thanks again. I achieved the flames far too simply: white basecoat, thinned blue or light blue ink shading, then light white drybrush. You'd achieve the same with green ink, or since you don't use GW paints so much, a regular green. Probably Testors FS34258 Green, or even Sublime Green might work. I much prefer inks.
For the rest of the body it was just as easy. Black spraycoat the bottom, white spraycoat the top (and the spray made it already somewhat blended black to white), use purple ink in transition areas, blue ink on top. It was fun to do.

Ah, time for an update. Here is a teaser of the Defiler I'm working on. It's nearing completion, but still has a bit to go. The flash really brought out the highlights, but either way, you be the judge...

I still really love the way you did the metal on the cannon/ legs of your defiler. I tried the same method on my Combine figures brass bits, but it didn't turn out the same. I think I forgot the chestnut glaze.
Ha. Chest nut glaze. I'll glaze your chest with nut.

Warm frosted glaze? Sweet...(shudder).
My process:
- black undercoat - tin bitz basecoat - drybrush boltgun metal highlight - flesh wash shading - drybrush mithril silver sharp highlight

Here's a test subject for my Tyranids. Kinda like the Leviathan look; went for a different method for the chitinous plates, using the new GW washes. I'd have more pictures, but the batteries died right after I took it. I'll put up more tomorrow. chitin: - white undercoat - red wash - purple wash - black wash skin: - white undercoat - red wash - bleached bone - wet drybrush skull white Start to finish: one hour of my afternoon's time.

Wow, I'm impressed. That looks really nice. The red accents really sell it, along with the subtle shading in the chitin.
How long does it take to paint one? I remember when fucking with my Tyranids that, despite being reasonably quick paint jobs, having to do it 200 times over was an unappealing prospect...

K, so my defiler made it to the first cut, but nothing else. Ah well. Got that much, right? Here's my next finished project, painted to gaming detail instead of display. They build stuff! Since I figured servitors were mindless humans of mostly mechanical stuff anyway, I went for the cold, pallid, deadish skin look.

A couple more postings today. Yay free time! Techmarine for the servitors. Painted this up in four hours last night for Nicole's D&D character.

Nice, HOT ELF!
I'd have to see the Techie in person, the face seems a bit shaded for my taste, but the armor looks great!
