alright guys, with the successful turn outs we had for the escalation league and mega-battle i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to what to do for the rest of the semester, i was thinking around the lines of running an escalation league at higher pts, i was thinking start out with a 500 pt warband, then a 1000 pt standard, then a 1500 pt standard, then a 2000 pt standard, play everybody once a week, add up the pts at the end, yada yada yada
my other idea was a map based campaign, though i have never organized one of these and it might take longer than a month
let me know what you guys think

Well the escalation league would be much easier to organize and plan but I am always partial to a map based campaign. Since we don't have all that much time I suggest doing the larger escalation league but we probably do not want to try to play each other person in the league since games of 1500 + take at least an hour to play and setup. And this time if we plan to do prize support we should announce it ahead of time.

I agree with Ian on this one. Map campaigns take more planning and its a little late in semester. Plus its hard to keep people interested in map campaign for long periods of time.
Probably should be picky about what events you provide prizes for. Club cant affoed to supply awards/prizes for every event it runs. It would be awesome but we have a fixed income and budget really...especially with turnouts for fundraiser tournaments not guaranteed at max.

well its not long enough to play someone once a week like john's 40k league, how about 2 or 3 people a week to keep the higher points in?

maybe a requirement of two games a week. But what will we provide as support to keep people interested. In all honesty who will play in this me sean and you rios, maybe justin and andrew that only leaves like 5 people. It might be too late in the semester to do this anyways. What I plan on doing for the next few meetings is to prepare for johns upcoming tourny. So there should always be a little fantasy action around the meetings.

Ok so does that mean you don't want to bother with the escalation league? If so that is fine for me. I will just make sure to try to bring my fantasy every time and play a bunch of pick up games and try to make a cheesy 1500pt list for the tourny.

Howzabout 1500 primer games for the upcoming tournament every week? I know I'll want to get one game in for tinkering every time.
I would like to hold club-supported prizes to once per system per school year. That would keep our overhead down. If you want additional prizes, you can always have like a $2 per person investment, then simply use it for something kewl or return it in increments for winners.

Ya we kinda figured that, thats why we aren't doing it too much money, and we still have done nothing for warmachine or 40k

If it were smaller and i had the money, I might be swayed to work on buying my elf box set instead of spending 60 on GTA4...and renting it instead lol. That way I could participate. Otherwise I'm doing 40k and Warmachine this semester...which I would do anyways as well...and RIOS NEEDS TO PLAY SOME TOO! Anyways, who knows...I need to continue painting my eldar.
