I'd like to participate with my Ogres if that's ok, I can probably stretch out 2,200 points at best though with maximum upgrades.

Ogres don't have canons... Btw where's the fun in spending an entire game killing an army by shooting when one table edge does nothing but remove models?

lots of cannons is actually pushed by the legendary rules, besides when all the models are on the table you'll see that seven cannons aren't going to be enough

My understanding of large-scale Fantasy games is pretty limited, never the less... to death with canons! muwahahaha

The "other" team won (the one not having me or rios) with Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts and Chaos Warriors. The other side was Empire, Ogre Kingdoms (me) and Bretonnians. The left flank, IE me, got completely raped by a death-star esque unit of a mounted Chaos special character that makes a mockery of a supped up Ogre Tyrant and retinue. For that matter, my entire army. That single unit destroyed 3/4 of the Ogres in my army by itself suffering virtually no casualties with all 4 marks of chaos on it, 1+ armor saves, 6+ ward saves and 1+ armor save and 3+ ward save on the special character himself with like 10 attacks.
I forgot my "desperation" token and never used it. I forgot all of my bull charge attacks. I failed every leadership check but 1 (gnoblars rolled snake eyes) and had some genuinely horrible dice rolling of the likes I've never seen.
On the bright side, the only units that actually managed to kill anything were my Gnoblars (WTF?!) who never bickered, made their ld check, killed something with their sharp stuff and managed to chase off one unit and survive melee with another. It was truly shocking and hilarious and I'm bringing these guys every game now.
My Gorger was my MVP (which isn't saying much) because he wiped out a catapault, survived archer fire to go on to wipe out another skeleton unit. He did exactly what his unit entry was designed to do and did it well ^_^.
In other words, all of my semi-competitive units (Iron Guts, Butchers, Tyrant, Leadbelchers) under-performed, and all of my un-competitive units (Gorger, Gnoblars) over-performed dramatically.
As for the over-all theme of the game, the enemy went first, the Empire army couldn't do much with its artillery for the entire game save for a very neat last turn grape shot into a skeleton unit (saved from a charge by none other than my Gnoblars). The right flank, with Rios/Bretonians, didn't really do anything from what I could see cause he was absent for at least 1 hour due to a class and he appeared to have died as hard as I did. The Empire army did its best, but with the flanks dead or neutered by turn 3 and mis-firing canons galore the game was call-worthy by then. Continuing on just allowed all my other stuff to somehow rack up some kills.
