So, with the exchange rates getting much better (GBP is 1.49 USD) I kinda want to get some Aeronautica Imperialis planes from Forgeworld. They can be used in the standalone game, or I was also hoping to use them in Apocalypse games. They are planes after all, and definitely better represent needing a 6 to hit. Would we as a club like to allow Epic scale planes in our Apoc games? I know I would. I'd put it on a good stand and everything.
I already have a Thunderhawk, but would like to get some Lightning Strike Fighters and Thunderbolt Heavy Fighters...maybe some aircraft for Chaos too...

I personally am not a fan of aircraft in 40k games, apoc or otherwise. I certainly can't speak for everyone though obviously. If you're going to work on one, go all out for it!

I'd mount them on at least 1' tall posts so they're much above all other models...except Dan's titan I guess. Maybe taller than that then, like 18" or so.

I'm all for planes in apocalypse games, same thing with turrets, etc... I dont know how large the epic scale fighters are, but the Aeronautica Imperialis guys seemed decent sized for 40K purposes, and they're much cheaper than the actual 40K scale planes.
As for planes not belonging... I say that purposefully limiting the scope of a game is detrimental to fun, re-playability and creativity.
