this is the 2000 point list im working towards, be harsh and let me know what works and what doesn't if you have any knowledge or tips, i know the two big troops is risky but i think they can survive long enough to make it to capture any points And here's the paint scheme:

Big question: you will be playing with LRCs that have a transport capacity of 16, right? Thus that's where you're Champion will be hitching a ride.
Your troops are just fine. Squads of 15 power armored dudes are hard to take down, even if 5 are scout armored. Plus a pair of land raiders is always fun.
I'm not sure on the Sword Brethren. I don't think I've heard anything good about them...but I'd proxy them and try them out to see if they work for you.
Everything else is fine. I personally would prefer more AT weapons like meltaguns, but then I always expect more vehicles than my opponents ever use. Too bad for them as my AT weapons now blow apart poor little guys.

thanks...the EC actually infiltrates with the sword brethren, and naw the LRC are still capacity 15 everything is per codex, and i have a melta and power fist in each squad so i think i can handle enemy tanks pretty well

Can the EC infiltrate? If not, then by joining him to the squad, the squad loses the ability too as shown on pg 74 of the BRB. Infiltrate has the *.

I thought the list you played on Thursday worked pretty well with it being half of what you were planning to use in total and for having neither land raiders. The CC rules the BT get are insane. You tore my guys up...after I shot up a bunch. Go assault marines!

Give them furious charge and have them cruise around in a LRC with the champion, and then have one troops as footslogging. It does work just fine...especially as every time you lose one guy you run forward more. I hate that so much sometimes.

unfortunately i cant give the brethren a LRC as a transport, best i can do is a rhino, in order to fit in the rhino i have to drop the crusader seals on my 3 units, freeing me 60 points, i thought that would be good seeing as they cant consolidate into combat anymore the re-rolls aren't as important, and i can also throw a Heavy Flamer on the dread

Right...but you can simply buy a LRC as a heavy support choice, right? Then stick the character + squad in it?

unfortunately by the 5th ed. faq black templars still follow the old dedicated transport rules per their codex

Right...but a LRC bought as a heavy support choice (for no squad) can carry any squad in the army. Unless I'm still missing out on something. Do you have LRCs available as heavy support choices?

yea i do... but the Faq says the codex overrules the general rulebook specifically for black templar that they follow the old dedicated rules

Yes, that's if you buy a LRC as a dedicated transport. Oh right, You've only played Tau before this...lemme 'splain, k.
Marine armies have dedicated transports. These are rhinos, razorbacks, drop pods, and in some instances land raiders (terminators and crusader squads spring to mind). However, you can also take land raiders as heavy support choices, as they are so awesome and killy that they can be stand alone vehicles. These vehicles have a transport capacity. They are not dedicated transports. Thus, they are allowed to pick up any unit in your army and transport them. Get it?
So, buying one LRC as a dedicated transport for your crusader squad, then buying another as a heavy support choice allows you to transport the sword brethren + EC, as it is not a dedicated transport.
People wailed and knashed their teeth because the sword brethren don't get a LRC as a dedicated transport in the codex; if that were the case, you could have tons of land raiders without using up your heavy support slots, which just plain hurts.

Yea that would be kinda mean...
I just got my LRR...got it partially assembled at this moment, as if you know me, I like to paint the whole thing. That means the inside of it too...lol
So I have to work on a good way to be able to have the angles to paint the inside lol. I think I have that figured out though.
I want to figure out a way to make my paint scheme look like a black LR drove through a puddle of green paint and it is splashed all over the front and trails to the rear. Would be kinda sweet I think.

It might be easier to literally whip it with a bunch of dark green paint from the edge of a soaked paper towel or something? A better analogy for theory-painting it might be that it drove through a radioactive puddle or something so instead of just green it could get all neon-like with maybe some bit pieces of arms or legs mutated sticking to the sides ^_^. The paint scheme Rios drew above looks very similar to GW's paint scheme for the Black Templars and I personally like it. Yeah Black Templars are very killy and the run-forward thingy makes them annoying for my Tau; but it's a interesting rule that can be used by a prudent opponent like what happened in the ruins with Delso's heroic, but doomed Marine squad and the ensueing inferno by my entire army the following turn... I'm sorry I instant killed your Emperor's Champion, he deserved better than a rail slug to the face. Alas the Necron Phalanx drew last blood ^_^.

I always thought that the sword brethren were over priced for what you get. you could get two more troops 2 5 man squads with a lascannon and plasma gun with one neophyte. these can now act as objective holders. Just a thought.

Delso - lol, you're supposed to paint interiors BEFORE assembling the whole thing.
Rios - Any interesting reason for the extra gold parts? Looks neat.
