So it seems there are three guys living nearby that play BFG, and they'll be in this weekend for gaming. Yay! More players! Hopefully someone can slip them the address for the forums...

I like the rules in BFG, I just wish the models were priced appropiately... I can't justify paying $30-40 for a "Battleship" when it's a quarter of the size of a 40K tank.

Ah, but one can easily justify paying $70 for an entire fleet and needing nothing more...

I really like BFG...but I agree with tom that the pricing is a little off. Luckily there is EBAY which you can usually find cheap stuff, that or just roam around on forums in the buy, sell, and trade sections they usually pop up every one in a while.

I'm looking at either Space Marines or Imperial Guard due to the models. The generic Tau BFG models are just terrible. The Forge World versions are better, but not worth the $. I want my WWI Dreadnoughts in space to look like their name sake . Not so sure about Chaos cause some of their ships look like race boats (not my thing) or one in particular looks like the flute Peter Pan played for Wendy.

i always loved my orks in BFG, huge guns, good front armor and ships designed to ram as a squad. great. fun game i would play against myself sometimes because i had tons of chaos ships but ive sold most of them.

I thought the Scythe was 375...but I could be wrong. Anyway yea, we'll talk.
Tom, you should do Imperial Navy (NOT guard). I've already cornered the market with my Ultramarines fleet, heh.

Assuming Carl and I can come to an agreement over his BFG Imperial Navy I wouldn't mind practicing sometime next week myself; probably Thursday, if not after Thursday.

Thursday will be all league and campaign, so no BFG. It's much better as a weekend game.

hey for the summer campaign i was wondering if a battleforce would be enough necrons for a raiding party

Just as a heads up, for said summer campaign, you don't need to have your 'army' match your 'navy,' but it's nifty for fluff and asthetics. I'll probably use my soon to be acquired DKOK guys with my Imperial Navy to maintain theme, but could just as easily use Tau or Tyranids if I so chose for my 'army.'

Erm...yea you'll definitely need your boarding party to match your fleet. Exceptions I could see are space marines for an IN fleet...if you got the upgrade. I said your existing armies don't need to match your proposed fleet, a totally different line of thought.

Checked out you teaching Tom Andrew, and I must say that I really liked it. Because i don't play 40K I wouldn't be as involved as the rest of you, but you definitely have me intrigued. Unfortunately there isn't any Eldar stuff on eBay, as that is almost certainly the fleet i would use.
