So I know most of us may already know about this but for those of us who dont...here is a picture of the soon to be released Ork Stompa...it looks huge and strangely like it is wearing a moo-moo. I dunno how I feel about it...maybe because I do not play orks but it just seems off to me. I dunno. Anyways large and in charge. One perk is it comes with 230 pieces so hopefully lots of bitz.

To me it looks just like the fluff artwork. It's actually quite a steal in that it has a lot more bits n' parts than the Bane Blade(s). Unlike the Bane Blades, it does not come together to create an awesome Gothic tank of doom, so my impressions are a bit mixed. I've known about this for a long time, but for those of us who don't religiously check up on Warseer I'm sure the posting is appreciated.

It's pretty much the same/similar to the ones in the Apocalypse books. All in all I'm not really a fan of the Stompas. I should probably look closer to the rules for them and see how they'd run, but I don't like the way they look. I like some of the models that they've made for the orks recently...such as the new Tank Bustas, Kommandos, Storm Boyz, and all of the special characters. Just when I started to like the new ork trukk too, they released the battlewagon which in my opinion looks like crap and is a glorified trukk. Back on topic though, if I ever saw myself buying one of these Stompa sets...I'd probably just use it for bits to build and modify other things.

With respect to the Battle Wagon, it does indeed look pretty horrible if you pile on the turrets vertically like in most of the pictures. However, if you literally cut that thing down to it's most basic components and paint it up properly, IE not all black or red, it actually looks like a really mean cool truck straight out of Road Warrior/Mad Max. Of course, if that's the effect that's achieved by skipping all the bits, then why buy the kit in the first place over, say, custom bashing an Ork Trukk? This Titan appears more like a glorified bit-box than anything. I'm sure if you had a really sharp knife/saw you could hack away at this thing and with some plasticard/random junk custom kit bash all the Ork vehicles you'd ever need. Not terribly unreasonable when the kit itself costs as much as 3 Ork Trukks (roughly) and you could build way more than that out of this thing . For the record if/when I start Imperial Guard early this summer as a modeling project I'm getting the new Bane Blade kit (I feel so sorry for everyone who bought the first plastic kit, IE trial run) and running it as a giant tank of doom, not for bits. Precious Bane Blade, I would never take a knife to you...

I like this model. I'm sure it is hard to justify points-wise, but it is pretty cool. With the size and detail of this model, I think the time is right for plastic Imperial Titans. They could even do several versions with different accessory sprues so it could be used for different armies (Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Chaos). They have no reason not to do that.

If you go the GW site there is a slightly better painted one in black and white.
