the original red dawn was a piece of junk film with a bizarro card-board augmented helicopter scene to boot (you can't kill tanks with hand grenades either...). however, with that said, it was an AWEOSOME piece of junk film and i don't want that 80's movie ruined by a modern adaptation. I'm sick of Hollywood remaking everything from the 80's all of it has been utter crap from starsky and hutch, Night Rider (tv series they just remade, looks more like the spy hunter video game) and not 80's but that War of the Worlds remake SUCKED BALLS. Please hollywood stop destroying my nostalgia for bad movies done right by remaking them as bad movies without the nostalgia factor cause then they just suck.
While i'm still ranting on how hollywood ruins good bad movies by making bad ones, here's what i think should get re-made/made if hollywood wasn't wasting all it's time and money on these dumb projects:
Wing Commander, post-ROTS star wars movie (preferably the Thrawn Trilogy or The Force Unleashed), War of the Worlds (done in the 18/19th century setting of the original book, so iron tripods with flame throwers and cavalry), The entire Star Wars prequels as one 2 hour film (not too hard... most of those movies are filler. no natalie portman or hayden or midi chlorians) and a Aliens movie based off the fan-fiction and video games, not that crappy AVP franchise.
Here's what hollywood needs to stop re-making:
Romantic comedies, chick flicks, football, anything with Tom Cruise in it (I'll forgive him for making Tropic Thunder an awesome movie at the end), the Jason/Friday 13th/Halloween franchise, SAW (there's no story here after the first film LET IT DIE, SAW V is too much), bad spoof movies like Scary movie spoofing bad movies.
