So we had nominations tonight at club, here is who we have so far:
President: John Frizzel, Ian Rogerson
Vice President: Mike Rios, Ian Rogerson
Treasurer: Sean Rogerson, Ian Rogerson
Secretary: Mike Rios, Andrew K.
Sergeant at Arms: Carl, Mike Rios, Bill, Dubs, Delso
I am pretty sure these are them, I did of course leave my notes at the game shop so I might revamp this list tomorrow when I go there.
The rules for running are rather simple you can run for as many positions as you want.
We will count votes after each position and announce a winner so you can make an informed decision on who you should vote for the next position up. We will hold election on our anniversary meeting. We will have pizza for every member at 6 0'clock and have elections shortly after.
Also please be respectful and pause your games and pay attention to the elections. John has given us permission to kick anyone out of the basement that is not a club member (except people on the computers).
If you would like to run for a position please post here or if you have any questions.

Also anyone who is running should read this before making the decision to run. These are Mandatory and will be enforced. If you cannot perform the duties of said post you will be removed and a new exec board member will be elected.
As some of you may know our yearly elections are coming up in the spring. We have four major positions and one minor position.
The four major positions are: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
The minor position is: Sgt.-at-Arms
These positions are the main decision making positions in the club. The people who have these positions decide what major events our club holds and where our money goes. Due to this responsibility we want the best people possible for executive board. Therefore I am writing this post so people can see what each post entails and the responsibilities you will have to the club.
Know that all positions are mandatory attendance. You must be able to make all meetings in order to hold these posts. If you cannot attend meetings on a regular basis. Do not run for a position. We also know that emergencies come up so occasionally a missed meeting will not matter but for example if you get an executive board position and then sign up for a class on Thursday nights and stop showing up to club. You will lose said position and someone new will be elected. This is not meant to be mean to you or hurt your feelings. This is a simple way of making sure that our executive board stays involved in the club.
Description of Positions:
PRESIDENT:The president acts as the official head of the executive board and the club in general. As president you are responsible for filling out and filing any paper work that needs to be filled out for the Student Association. At the beginning of every academic year the president must fill out a new officer form and all other required paperwork. To not do so would make it so the club was no longer officially recognized by NIU. Since our recognition by the school is very important and needed for advertising and new membership this position is extremely important and requires the most work outside of actual club time. Also on top of the other duties the President is responsible for organizing our room situations on campus and with OBG!. Also if one of the executive board members cannot fulfill their duties (due to medical or family emergencies) than the president is expected to fulfill this task until further notice or until another member takes over the post/duty.
Vice-President:The vice-president is second in the "chain of command" if the situation arises that the president cannot be at a meeting the Vice-President is responsible for running the meeting. Also if the president cannot get the required paperwork into the Student Association on time to meet required deadlines (such as medical or family emergency) the Vice president is responsible for these actions. The Vice-President is also responsible for finding free prize support(for more information on this please contact me) and logistics (i.e. terrain transport if needed and yearly anniversary party/meeting).
Treasurer: The treasurer is responsible for all monetary actions within the club. First duty as treasurer is attending the required treasurer meetings that the Student Association hold each fall. You must attend these meetings as they are required. If you cannot attend these meetings than do not sign up for this position. Second duty of the treasurer is to collect dues. Our dues for club are the reason why we are able to host tournaments with prizes and provide end of semester parties and other such good things. They would also be used for the getting of terrain if we were not at OBG! but because we are they are not used for that purpose. The treasurer is obligated to attend all club hosted tournaments to handle all entrance fees and awards. The treasurer is expected to maintain a detailed log of all funds and to hand out receipts to everyone who joins for their club dues. If you never received a receipt please contact me on here with a private message.
Secretary: The secretary position is responsible for keeping copies of all Student Association documents and keeping said documents easily accessible for reference. Also he/she is responsible for Club flyers which includes the design and production of the flyers and also getting them approved by NIU. Last, the secretary should maintain minutes at all executive board meeting which should be filed with the above mentioned official paperwork and also should maintain and post weekly on the "secretary rumblings" section in the general board on the forums.
Sergeant at Arms (Sgt-at-Arms): This position is responsible for maintaining order at all club meetings (executive board and normal weekly meetings). A new duty that this position will be responsible for is the greeting of all new prospective members...this includes showing them around explaining the club and what we do. This means that if a new member shows up at a meeting the Sgt.-at-Arms should pause his/her respective game and greet the new member and invite them to watch their game. If the person just wishes to walk around the Sgt.-at-arms may then resume their game. I know this seems like a pain but its something myself, Matt, and Andrew use to do when we were the only exec board and it made people feel at home and welcome. Also this person should be ready to play Demo's in the respective games that they play or at least provide a comprehensive explanation of the game system they are playing.
More could be added to these but as of right now these are the responsibilities of the executive board. If you wish to run for these positions in the upcoming spring election you will be expected to adhere to the required attendance rule. if you have any questions regarding this please contact me by PM on here or email me at miniature_gamer@yahoo.com
