I don't own the current book and don't want to buy it with the impending new version. With that said, can someone answer a few questions so I can do some test models.
1. What can be in an HQ squad? (No points, just options) 2. In a 10 model unit of troop choice guard, can that 10 man squad include a heavy weapon team? Any restrictions on what the team can be armed with? 3. In a 10 model unit of troop choice guard, can that 10 man squad include any flamers? If so, how many?
I know this is all subject to change, but like I said, I am eager to do a test model for next saturday.

What can be in a Guard HQ squad? Well, for starters, there is the officer, then there is his retinue of 4 men. These 4 men can be all be upgraded to veterans (+1 attack in CC) , to special weapons( so up to x4 flamers, plasma, melta, or grenade launcher), and two may form a heavy weapons team (missile, heavy bolter, lascanon, mortar,auto-cannon). Note that you cannot be more than one of these at once, so no vets with melta guns or heavy weapons. All of the men can exchange their lasguns for laspistoles and cc weapons for no extra price. Two of the veterans can be up graded to medics or standard bearers, the standard bearer option is limited to the command HQ squad and there can only be one. It is also not worth while to take two medics because you can only save the first failed armor save. Beyond that, the officer himself is a lot like other characters, so I won't go much into him. As for the regular 10 man squads, yes they can take a heavy weapon, same choice of heavy bolter, missile launcher, lascannon, mortar, auto-cannon that the command squad has. It requires 2 men to crew it but the gunner and the loader can not be targeted inside of the team, their roles are interchangeable. The 10 squad also can up grade with a special weapon, grenade launcher, flamer, plasma, and melta. You can only have one, but you can take both a heavy weapon team and a special weapon operator in the same squad. Just a quick note: You need one HQ squad to lead the army (Command HQ or CHQ) and one HQ for every platoon of infantry or heavy weapons (Infantry HQ or Heavy Weapon HQ, just HQ). Some people get confused by that when they start out or only take a brief look over the Codex. If you have any other questions or need something to be clarified, just keep on asking away .

1. 1 Officer, 4 Guardsmen come stock. Officers carry pistol and ccw and armory access, guardsmen get lasgun or pistol and ccw. Options: frags, kraks, a single heavy weapon crew: lascannon, autocannon, missile launcher, mortar, heavy bolter. Any that aren't a heavy weapon crew can get meltagun, plasma gun, grenade launcher, and flamer. Anybody that isn't any of the above can be a vox-caster, or a master vox. Anybody that isn't any of the above can be upgraded to veterans with access to the armory. Up to two veterans can be: standard bearer, medic. Can have a chimera transport.
2. Yes, then: missile launcher, lascannon, autocannon, mortar, heavy bolter.
3. Yes. One can have a single special weapon of any type.

Yep, I think Andrew added everything else, hehe forgot a few . Just to clairify a little bit, one heavy weapon needs two men, one man gets a heavy weapon of your choice and the other retains his lasgun or laspistole and cc weapon, this is more for the HQ squad than the regular infantry squad. So it would be one heavy weapon and two other options for the command squad if you choose that kind of combination.
