Hehehe, shinny stuff. I bet that the other armies will soon enough have special strategems too. They showed off some pretty cool conversions, good use of spare bits. The Hellhound and friends are much how I expected them to be, might have to get me one of those some day . Shadowsword got its baptisim of fire today at the GW store in a tank vs. infantry battle. Needs just a little more work before it is done. Took it and two other similar chassie tanks as stormswords, 10' strength 10 ap 1 ignores cover. Me and a friend had 5000 points of tanks, me 2200~ him 1000~ and another 1000 from the store vs. 8000+ points of infantry and big bugs, we got to bring back tanks destroyed on the first 3 turns to compansate, didn't help, we still were short mabey 1000 points when it was all said and done. Killed 200+ infantry mix of marnies, chaos, nids, nids, and orks. However 9+ big bugs and lots of stealers flak marched and had us on turn 2, lost three super heavies by turn three, they all came back but it did not matter by then, resounding lose on the part of armor regardless of knocking out nearly 3000~ points of infantry, I don't think we killed more than 1 big bug . The GW store needs to do a much better job of organizing future battles, sigh. Seemed ok till we had 4000+ points of nids comming from behind our lines.

Confirmation of a suspicion of mine. Here is a comparison between the new Leman Russ Demolisher kit and an old Leman Russ kit with a Forge World Exterminator turret that shows off some differences, some minor some more noticible. www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/35811-Leman%20Russ%20Hull%20Comparison.htmlLooks like the whole hull (-tracks) is new, it does not seem to fit the same way and has a different profile. I would like to see it up close and personal to tell exactly how much of a difference it is but it looks acceptable enough for now. Would like to know if the demolisher turret and the new russ turret will be sold seperatly at first, it would be poor judgement on the part of GW if they didn't at least for the first six months or so at the very least via direct order, other wise the internet will do it for them and they will likely lose a certain amount of revenue, that would be my guess. Oh well, I guess I will have to wait and see.
