And so, after a day of brutal battles, the forces of Chaos have finally made headway and captured the mining system of Misere. The Imperial Navy has withdrawn two ships for repairs, while the Orks keep making noise. No sight or sound of the Necrons rumored to be in the region.

Seeking slaves and cultists, the Word Bearers fought a fleet engagement for control of the Moab system. Losing a Dauntless cruiser and suffering heavy damage, the Imperial Navy reluctantly withdrew, leaving the populace to their fates.

May as well add my $0.02:
The engagement saw two large fleets meet above the skies of the a civilized world, the populace only able to marvel at the sparkles of light that symbolized the detonations of munitions and compartments thousands of kilometers above.
The Imperials, through subterfuge, sought to steal the Arch Nemesis' victory out from under them by sending them fleeing back to the Warp and claiming the planet for themselves.
The Arch Nemesis, however, had other plans.
The Imperial communications system broke down before the game began, resulting in the fleet arriving piece meal from many directions in an attempt to out-flank the enemy.
However, the Arch Nemesis was no fool. Using technology lost to the Imperium for 10,000 years, the Renegades easily out-maneovered the inferior Imperial vessels and sent a Cruiser and even a formidable Mars Battlecruiser limping off in retreat.
The Agile pair of Dauntless Cruisers fought valiantly, but not even their brave crews could stop the raging fires that left one a blazing hulk to be salvaged by the enemy.
The Emperor, though formidable, seriously miscalculated its positioning and was only able to scratch the paint off the enemy admiral's ship.
But all was not lost, for the enemy lost several escorts and two crippled vessels. Yet it was all for nought, for the wreckage of the doomed Dauntless was pillaged and gave the Arch Nemesis the munitions necessary to push the righteous Imperial Navy into a strategic withdrawal; leaving the once civilized world to the plunder of the enemy.
The battle was thus concluded with a victory for the Renegades, and the Imperial Navy left to lick its wounds. A call for reinforcements was lost amidst the storms of the Warp, and the Imperial Navy is left temporarily reduced in its fighting capacity; opening up the way for further incursions by the worshipers of Chaos.

Tom tried to assault the primary planet in the Moab system in an attempt to rescue the people and recapture the system. However, on the way to the planet, the bridge crew found the Imperial Battle Group Commander sleeping in his bunk, refusing to budge. The assault was called off after a transport was lost and crippling damage dealt to a ship of the line.
Result: Draw Andrew: +2 Renown (VP's), all ships repaired Tom: +1 Renown (fought commander with higher renown), what'd you do?

Oh right I forgot about the bloody reknown. Bugger, that leaves me with 9 I believe ... so close to 10... I didn't do a whole lot. A Tyrant skidaddled like a wussy cause he had 1 hit point left, I wounded (but not crippled) two cruisers, a battleship and a space station. Had the game gone on if Andrew didn't have to leave, it would've been interesting to see if I could've recovered from (another) bad deployment on my part as I still had 4 transports left and half the Chaos fleet over-shooting with a wave of bombers incoming to cover my rear... Positive Thinking ;D I'm gradually getting the hang of BFG and compensating for the IN's lack of special, well, anything (stupid Nova Canon shooting my escorts ). My major problem is still deployment, however.

Players: Andrew and Tom Location: Lithore System Result: Andrew wins Renown: Andrew +7, Tom +2
Having blown past the Imperial Navy lying in wait, the chaos warfleet successfully landed scores of troops on Lithore V, overrunning the defenses and forcing the remaining Imperials off-world.
Players: Tom and Andrew Location: Moab System Result: Tom wins Renown: Tom +6, Andrew +3
Hearing of the atrocities executed by the Word Bearers onto the populace of Moab III, the Imperial fleet commander brought the traitors to battle near the system's sun. Despite getting buffetted by a solar flare, having their flagship boarded and crippled by the Desolator class battleship known as Lorgar's Wrath, and suffering heavy damage, the Imperials were victorious. Engaging with new squadron tactics they were able to weather the chaos fusillade to unleash their own, straight into the Lorgar's Wrath. It eventually went nova, causing damage on nearby ships. However, the explosion was just a trick of the warp, as no remains were discovered before the entire Imperial fleet disengaged. New reports indicate the Lorgar's Wrath indeed survived somehow, and through the whims of the chaos gods it has become far faster and more agile than any battleship.

Ian and Rios just have schedule conflicts. I myself never get in until at least 3 PM so I can't exactly blame them ^_^.
Besides it's rather fluffy for the Arch Nemesis and Imperials to fight a lot... albeit the Imperial Navy deserves a better Admiral than me lol.
If you want in, please please join in! While I'm learning a lot (the hard way) from Andrew, I want to fight a different opponent than Chaos Space Marines all the time because they make IN feel wimpy.

Players: Rios and Andrew Location: Lithore System Result: Rios wins Renown: Rios +6, Andrew +2
The Necrons finally made their presence felt, striking out at the Lithore System. The Word Bearers tried to bait them into a trap, but failed. Chaos escorts boarded the Necron escorts, causing catastrophic damage to one of them. The rest tried to escape into the asteroids but the rocks proved too dense: all of the escorts impacted on rocks.
Players: Tom and Rios Location: Moab System Result: Tom wins Renown: Tom +7 I think, Rios +1
The Necrons bounced off the Imperial Capital ships, and were repelled.
Players: Andrew and Rios Location: Misere System Result: Andrew wins Renown: Andrew +11, Rios +2
Despite a strong beginning and early damage, the Necrons could not overtake the Word Bearers. Boarding actions, heavy broadsides, and explosions abounded. When the Necrons faded from the engagement area, only one crippled scythe, cryppled tombship, and partially damage scythe remained.
