hey so i think we should have an in club tournament before the kill and grill. I figure it can just be a simple winners move on to the next round (what ever that is called i don't wanna look it up) and we can just roll for missions and deployments. as far as prizes i don't know dude, if the elected leaders support it and wants to pitch in great we can have good prizes.... Someone could even put effort into setting up missions and running it. Me, i want to play in it and i figure if its all in club we shouldn't need a full time judge. If the board wants to save its money for bigger and better things i will come up with prizes for the winners. nothing great mind you i am a poor poor boy, but something that is somewhat worthwhile at least. Positive feedback is welcome... negative feedback will most likely get you anonymous threatening phone calls when you least expect them.
(FYI our spell check does not fix lower case I's so.... deal with them)

With all the transitional stuff going on....ie new Board Members, relocating back to the SC, and also budgeting for the year, we hadn't really discussed plans for any in club tournaments as of yet. If any of you members would like to plan one out or get things rolling on that, it'd be fantastic. Getting one in before the Kill and Grill/Whatever we're calling it....that would be the only hard thing to do.

Ok so how about Thursday the 20th of august? that or Saturday the 22nd.... what ever will get the most people. It will be random mission and deployment and tables will be set up before hand (hopefully i can get some help with that part cause i am the suck at setting up tables.) Prizes are as yet to be determined but will probably only be for first and second place since i think this is going to come out of my pocket. no entry fee though so no complaining about what the prizes are.

I think Saturday will work out the best because depending on the format of the tournament and points of armies we may need the entire day and I'm sure John would not want to stay open that late on a Thursday for us.

Ok so here are the specifics as i have them.
It will be Saturday august 22nd
Points will be 1500.
it will be WYSIWYG. if you don't want to buy it don't field it.
you do not have to be fully painted or flocked but you get major style points if you are.
Conversions will be accepted on a case by case basis and you can expect to get your model approved unless you are doing something like calling a rhino with a head glued on a defiler*
It will be a single elimination tournament to make things easy.
I will try to set up first rounds as fairly as i can and after that well... if you win you deserve to fight whoever you get in the second round.
scenarios will be rolled for as will be deployment.
Prizes are as yet to be determined. Sorry for the delay on this but i don't know how much money i will be able to pull together for prizes and well.... that makes all the difference.
There is no entry fee! (yay free stuff just tastes better!)
Also, style points don't count for anything.
I have never ran a tournament so.... if i have missed anything or if you have any questions please feel free to post.
*to clarify this applies to models. No rules conversions will be allowed since I have no confidence in myself on fully understanding if a conversion list is balanced or not.

I think this could be fun, the prize thing is gonna be a bitch on your part though.
I know you are running it, and as such it should be your burden...but I dunno that kinda sucks. You could just like charge $1 a person and that will at least make it easier lol.
