I am strangely looking forward to 8th edition. I did not think I would.

From what I hear, some things seem interesting, but I'm still not entirely looking forward to it. Capping percentages on units forces you to play 3000+ games to get stuff like Bloodthirsters and the like, which I suppose makes sense but when you don't have the money to get that many models, it looks more like just a marketing ploy. Smaller games are really where it works, in my opinion.

I dunno. I feel it may alienate the majority of the players, yet draw in so many more new ones for its relative simplicity and similarity of the LotR system.

It also screws over magic heavy armies in smaller points, especially my Vampire Counts. Having few units altogether, I need the magics to raise my army as I go along; not having that will mean they might become unplayable. I'll have to see.

Next are my Bretonnians; I'm required to have at least two characters, the BSB and a General. I cannot take any magic banners and only minimal items on either of those two at 1000 points...don't have my armybook with me but from what I remember...

My WoC also suffer at 1000 points, limiting me to either two bare-bones characters (pretty much useless) or one somewhat stronger character.

Basically, my favorite points level forces me to play with weak-ass armies that should simply collapse. YAAAAYYY.

But, we'll see how it goes. My VC might not get the super nerf because of the 2D6 magic dices and other things.

Checked out the video of the new book. It's quite pretty! Saw a page with the To Wound chart on it...apparently, S1 can now wound T10!!!?!?!? Lame I say!
