I don't know if I'm putting this is the right place or not but I thought I would throw out an idea for an activity you guys could run.
In Iowa for thanksgiving and one other time in the spring a hunger driven tournament would be held for Warmachine/Hordes. It was held as a run of the mill tournament but anyone participating could bring in canned food that would be donated to a local homeless shelter. This canned food, besides helping people in need, would actually give the player access to re-rolls to be used throughout the tournament. Each can donated was worth one re-roll that could be used at any round. It was a pretty smashing success and garnered the local game store who ran it some nice publicity.
I don't know if you guys would be interested in doing something similar but I just wanted to throw the idea out there.

I absolutely love the idea....it's a bit late for thanksgiving though to really get something lined up....but what about a toy drive or something after finals week before christmas? I seriously would love to do something along the lines of a food or toy drive.

A toy drive sounds like a good idea too...you could still do a food drive too thats doable anytime of the year.

So I mentioned the idea to Bear at the shop about the club and store cohosting a "food drive day" We're thinking the second sunday in December so it's just in time for christmas....it'd be a small deal, with a little tourney of multiple game systems including magic by the shop, and minis by the club. The rest of the details will be etched out right after thanksgiving....so start spreading the word.

I will post it on our events section on the new website. Send me more details as you get them especially about the mini tournaments so I can post them on other boards. Also for everyone who doesnt know we have an official website now. Basically just a home page for the club that allows us to advertise events and sponsors and links all our stuff. It is still under construction so it isn't done and more will be added. Visit it at: www.nimgc.org

No problem just something we did in Iowa where I was for college. I'm just glad that it can give me an excuse to game and help people at the same time. Nope not Greg's son, though I play monpoc with him periodically. The name is Brian.

for those interested I will be running a Monpoc tourney if we have enough. Bear is kind enought to offer a mega king kondo as a prize.
