I wanted to get everyone's feedback on doing a Resurgence tourney on Saturday, Feb 13th. Let me know what you think.
The next best dates would be Saturday, Feb 6 or Sunday, Feb 7 but I may not get the prize pack ordered in time.
otherwise it would fall all the way back to Saturday, Feb 27 or Sunday, Feb 28th.
I still have to clear this with Bear but these are the dates I am thinking about.

What are the rules for this format, I've heard something like no character anything except what was in prime for most rounds and no epics until the final round. I want to make sure I know how this works before I see if I can do it.

We will use the offical resurgence tourney rules as posted on the PP web site. Use the link to view the offical rules and senario. privateerpress.com/files/resurgence%20rules_WEB_0.pdf I will post a print out at the store also. If you do go to the site and read the PDF please remember we will be escalating at 25, 35, and 50 point armies and not the 35, 50, 75 points as indicated in the write up. It may be hard for some people to come up with a 50 point army let alone a 75 point one. The offical rules do take this problem into account and mentions the lower point total escalation as an alternative way to host the event No epic casters or character jacks (Drago, Thorn, etc) until 2 round as the point totals escalate. there are also limits on named warrior characters too in the first and second rounds. (damn no Yuri for me until the third round!) Also this, unfortunately, will be Warmachine only. The prize pack does not include faction coins for any Hordes faction.

So I'm wondering for those who don't have 50 pts worth of models, will proxies be allowed for models people don't have?

I'll have to think about it. The event rules say no and we are lowering the point total from the suggested 35/50/75 to 25/35/50.
I know I am one figure short of a 50 pt. list myself and that list will be less than optimal.

By the official rules, your list can be a maximum of two points under the match total (ie. 48/50, 33/35, etc). Proxies are not usually allowed, which is understandable, considering the timed nature of the turns and the fact that people don't need to waste time (or tactical prowess) trying to remember which of their opponent's proxies are supposed to be which. Plus, I think proxies offer a subconscious advantage to the person running them- as an opponent, I'm not going to treat the model of a Slayer with as much fear as I would the model of the Deathjack.

So if you are playing adam, use a model of his mommy. ;-)
Anyways, I will be there. I will need to whip up the three lists for Mercs, and read the rules in better detail.

Hey quick question. Are Hordes minion solos that cross to warmachine armies allowed?

I can't see why not. They are legally playable with Warmachine armies, so they shouldn't be a problem. Gudrun would actually be great for the scenario.

Yes Hordes Crossover Minion/Merc are allowed but they still have to conform to the army list rules:
Army Lists Army point totals cannot exceed the point size for the round and cannot fall more than 2 points under the point size. Round 1 of WARMACHINE Resurgence uses 35-point games. [glow=red,2,300]A player cannot use epic models or non-warcaster character models in his 35-point list with the following exceptions:[/glow]• Character models from WARMACHINE: Prime Mk II are permitted, as this is a Prime Mk II release event • A player fielding a Talion Charter army can include up to three non-warcaster character models in his Talion lists because of the character-driven focus of that mercenary contract [glow=red,2,300]Round 2 of WARMACHINE Resurgence uses 50-point games. A player’s 50-point army list must use the same models as his 35-point list plus additional models. These additional models can include character warjacks but no non-warcaster character warrior models except for those used in Round 1.[/glow] Players can use the epic version of their warcaster (if applicable) instead of their first-round warcaster if desired. Players can also upgrade the following warjacks by spending the difference in points between the two models: • Lancer ➞ Thorn • Ironclad ➞ Ol’ Rowdy • Revenger ➞ Blessing of Vengeance • Crusader ➞ Fire of Salvation • Berserker ➞ Drago • Juggernaut ➞ Beast 09 • Slayer ➞ Nightmare • Seether ➞ Deathjack [glow=red,2,300]Round 3 (and all subsequent rounds) of WARMACHINE Resurgence use 75-point games. A player’s 75-point army list must use the same models as his 50-point list plus additional models. These additional models can include any legal model for the army.[/glow]Players must use the warcaster in their second-round list or that model’s epic version. As in Round 2, players can upgrade warjacks to character warjacks by spending the difference in points between the two models as noted above.
So as you can see the Hordes Minion/Mercs would not be allow if they are named characters until the third round. This goes for named solos of a faction that are not listed in Prime MkII also. That is why I can't use Yuri until the third round but can use the Man-of-War Kovnik in all rounds.
If I am reading this one wrong let me know. Also I forgot to mention we are playing reduced point costs so Rd. 1 is 25, Rd. 2 is 35, and Rd. 3 is 50 point lists.

Ah, um this kinda sucks...there are shit for merc solos in the new books. There are like 3 maybe 4 and I don't have enough of them. I would do Talion Charter but I dont have my sea dogs anymore...
Well, hell. Time to figure this one out.

Does anyone have any idea how many people are planning on showing up for this. I was wondering how it would work if this thing is going to have more than three rounds. The rules make it sound like after the the three initial rounds you just keep going at 50. I know that this store I visited was planning on running their late resurgence tournament with greater emphasis on the lower levels to make the overall time commitment not quite as large.
They were planning on doing: Round 1 25 Round 2 25 Round 3 35 Round 4 50
Just curious really.

I don't believe we need to worry about going more than three rounds. honestly I only planned it for three. I doubt we will have the numbers to warrant a fourth round. if we did a fourth round we would do it at 50 pts as it allows for the use of all figures where 25 pts and 35 pt armies lists choices are restricted.

I just came out on thursday and i will be at teds thing on saturday. I can't come out here three times this week. As said I don't have any of the prime units for mark2 so i am kinda fucked when it comes to choices for a 25 point army. Sorry guys, I will join in the league though when that starts.

Sorry you can't make it Delso but I can understand the three times in one week thing can be a bit much. There will be other times.
Once the tourney is over I will start to post info on the league.
One last bit for those playing in the tourney on Sunday... no tiered lists. This tourney is a Prime MkII launch tourney and tiers are not available in the main book. Also not all factions have access to tiered lists so to keep things as even as possible... no tiers.
