The new "plastic" warjacks are actually resin. I don't know why they would not advertise them as such, as resin is a much more desirable hobby medium than plastic OR metal, IMHO. I picked up the Cryx 'jack box today (and spent all day magnetizing the limbs and heads), and was really happy with the detail level and mold quality. They are cast out of the same kind of resin as high-end military models, which holds amazing detail. Think about the Forgeworld stuff you see- the resin PP used for the 'jacks is actually a little better quality than that. Just awesome. Highly recommended.
I am really curious as to why PP would obfuscate this fact. I love resin. I think most people would agree, and it would avoid the "plastic" stigma. WTF?

Are you positive they're actually resin? I have heard they don't go together well with plastic glue and resin normally does. I'm not super privy to the mold procedures for resin, but I know they're very similar to an epoxy, as far as their molecular qualities are concerned. Like, is there somewhere you've seen on the models/box that indicate they are resin?

The plastic glue doesn't work at all. I think that makes a strong case for it being a higher quality resin, since it is in fact rather distinctively different from plastic.

The boxes say plastic, but as a modeler with years and years of experience I can tell you that- a.) Plastic glue does not work for shit on resin. You know the differences with the chemical reaction in plastic glue, and with resin that obviously can't happen. b.) The new "plastic" 'jacks are resin. No doubt about it. I cut it, I drilled into it- it is resin. It might be some slightly plasticized resin (if that is even a thing), but it is identical to the material that my military models (the higher end 1/35 scale stuff) is made out of. I've seen it a million times- on models sold as "resin."
It is good that they are made out of resin, but I just don't understand why they would open themselves up to scrutiny of labeling everything "plastic." Maybe the plastic shit came out poorly (as I have heard their early plastics did- which is why we are only seeing non-metals now), so they switched to resin.
I am happy. I just don't get it.

Problem with the Mercs is that everybody uses different 'jacks. Making a generic "catch all" 'jack would be hard- you would need a Rhulic one, a Magnus agenda one, a Privateer one... It is possible, but I doubt it is very high on their priority list.

A new resin nomad would be sweet. Thats a generic one...
