I basically have my 35 down, and it is the same between Stryker and Caine, as both work just fine with it. However, a couple changes are in order for Captain Sloan, namely shifting of units, so...
Sloan (-6) Defender (9) Defender (9) Reinholdt (2)
Longgunners + UA (8) Rangers (5) Black 13th (4) Eiryss (3)
Dropping the junior gives sloan the extra jack to maximize her battlegroup boosting abilities. Sure, it's all eggs in a basket, but if you even get to her it's all over anyway. Rattling off four range 16 boosted damage rolls a turn will put the hurt on, except for shit like Menoth choirs and Vlad.
I'd like to get arcane tempest gun mages, but I don't has money right now, so yea.

Does Sloan let the Defenders shoot twice? Nice. Huge hurt from them.
I think that dropping Jr. wasn't a bad move. This list looks strong without him.
Isn't Reinholdt only one point? If that is a miscalculation, might the Squire be a good addition (At the subtraction of Reinholdt)?

Nah, the defenders fire once and Sloan with Rienholdt fires twice with Wpn Mstr.
Wicked list! Justin, my youngest playe a Siege list on Sat. with
Siege * Defender * Ironclad ATGM (min #) * ATGM UA *Hunter
We only played 25 points but it was pain. The Ironclad was the only unit that didn't do much but he just kind of put that in there to make up points. I never laid a hit on siege and don't even try stealthing with the Gun Mages and True Sight and Siege with Mage Sight.
PVald is still vunerable to Sloan's shots as wind wall won't stop here weapon as Spitfire is magical although hitting with BoK running would be a bitch.

Sloan can fire twice with the gobber, while the defenders each fire once. However, on feat turn the def's fire twice (if they hit the first boosted shot) and she can fire a third time.
Oh yea, Reinholdt is just 1. Wow, that seems broken...so adding the squire would net me some extra focus, 8" CA (which boosts her feat effectiveness), and allows the reroll magic attack rolls. Does that then include magic shooting attacks like her rifle, or does that fall under a different category?
Ah, so windwall does. I never had cool magical shooting like I do now, so that's cool. Hitting Vlad should still not be a huge difficulty. RAT 12 (8 + aim + ranger mark target) plus boosted attack on just DEF 18, not counting cover and the like. Then if it works, the squire allows reroll, just in case? Either way, pow. I really like the character, as in various games I like playing the sniper.

Now, I like the LG's UA quite a bit, but I'm wondering if those two points could be better spent, say, gun mage captain solo?

Squire wouldn't allow the re-roll for Sloan's rifle attack as it is a Ranged attack and not a Magic roll. But still she is wicked still without it.
I would have to look at the gun mage solo he might be worth it as Sloan's spells aren't too spectacular but the extra focus is nice. In a perfect world where money isn't an issue the ATGM with UA are awesome with true sight and lending their special shots to marshalled jacks is very sweet indeed.

My current problem is I strongly dislike the models for Reinholdt and the Squire. Any neat alternatives out there for an ammo runt and a magical machine?

Reinholdt is one of the original models for the game I think...otherwise its just that he is that old and never got a re-sculpt.

Well, not alt sculpts but different models entirely, in a "counts-as" fashion, basically something that can get close to the original without being it.

If you keep Fire Group up, which you should, those defenders will actually be hitting targets 18" away, and Sloan herself at 16" away ^^ With the feat, if you want to boost both defender shots you have to make sure you take the free shot with the one that just fired, as jacks can only boost during their activation.

Oh right, 18", silly me. ANd you totally agree with me! THATS how it's worded, is ANY model can take the shot...such as the one that just fired and hasn't yet finished it's activation, allowing for boosts.
