We had a great turn out for the Resurgence Tournament today. It was great to see everybody and I hope everyone had a great time.
I am sorry that the prizes weren't available but Bear is going to call Privateer on Monday to find out and I have the results so everyone should get their coins soon.
So now for the results... We played a three round tournament with increasing army sizes for every round and also timed turns. I think it made for an exciting format and while some games ended quickly others dragged out to the bloody end (J.D. and Tom K. you know what I'm talking about!
So in the end here is how things shaked down. Scoring was Victory Points (VP) Win=1/Loss=0.
Tie Breaker was Strength of Schedule (Str Schd) and was the total record of the players you faced.
Second tie breaker was total control points (Ctl Pts).
1st Place: Ted (3 VP/4 Str Schd) Overall and Khador Champ
2nd Place: Adam (3 VP/2 Str Schd) Cryx Champ
3rd Place: Steve (2 VP/6 Str Schd) Merc Champ
4th Place: Brian (2 VP/5 Str Schd) Menoth Champ
5th Place: Rios (2 VP/3 Str Schd) Cygnar Champ
6th Place: Jason (1 VP/5 Str Schd/12 Ctl Pts) Cryx Army
7th Place: Tom K. (1 VP/5 Str Schd/9 Ctl Pts) Cygnar Army
8th Place: Eric (1 VP/4 Str Schd) Cryx Army
9th Place: Greg (0 VP/8 Str Schd) Khador Army
10th Place: J.D. (0 VP/3 Str Schd) Menoth Army
For me it was a great time. As you can see by my strength of schedule I played a tough schedule. Good opponents all and I can say with pride that Sorscha did not die once! ;D
First round was supposed to be my victory by a Bye round but thankfully Ted came in to give us a nice round number... oh and win it all! It was a nice story fluff Sorscha vs. Butcher battle that had Butcher winning on Control Points as I was weak off the line and fell behind 4 points to 1 when the scoring started. At 25 points I was happy with the result but probably would have been wiped in the end.
Second round against Adam and his awesome Cryx army. I divided up my forces for a very weak pincer type maneuver while Adam swept up the middle with DJ, Seether and a full Bane Knight Unit. Horseman on the wings tied up my Jacks and I misjudge a charge with my Beserker. Overall not bad but again falling 4 points to 1 early is hard to recover from.
Third round with Rios was better as Rios won by 7-6 control points but by the time all was said in done he had trashed all my jacks and had me on the run with just a little damage to his three jacks. Although I did give him a good scare when my lone manhunter pummeled E. Styker leaving him with 2 wounds. Unfortunately I couldn't follow it up to finish him off.
Again I hope that everyone had a great time. I will try to post some pictures soon and in the next few weeks I will post details for the upcoming Warmachine/Hordes League! Stay tuned and thanks again for coming out.
