Observations of Rhupert Carvolo, 607 A.R., Southern Thornwood:
After long hours of circling the Bog, I found a gas mask left behind by one of the fleeing Cygnaran soldiers. It was clearly of Cygnaran design, fitting tightly and formed a complete seal around my face. I made my way into the bog. There was an eerie quiet, vaporous in nature, floating through the Bog. The air was thick with black, sooty smoke; clearly there was battle here only a short time ago. I did my best to avoid stepping in the corrosive waters of the bog, but I fear I may have soaked my linens for the last time, for these bog waters have a strange, degrading property to them. As I made my way through the bog, I suddenly came through an opening where stood a large, inert and rapidly oxidizing Cygnaran warjack.
It was amazing. The whole 'jack was crusted over in a layer of rust. There were many footprints strewn across the ground. There was most definitely a battle here and more recent than my own comfort levels leave me to believe. What was strangely peculiar was the lack of dead anywhere in view. Surely this can be explained, again, by the corrosive nature of this bog.
I made my way through the remainder of the bog, following the foot prints, hurried now. I could hear the gnashing of metal, the slow, weighted plods only a heavy warjack makes. I came out of the bog, pushing willow branches aside as I locked my vision onto what can only be described as a "pincer" type advancement. The Khadoran front was making its way on both the left and right flanks of the bog, as well as up the middle. The thud of cannonballs hitting the earth close by did little to break the advancing wall. It was clear to me now, that the Cygnaran line, though once on the offensive, now was doing everything it could to hold off a resurgent Khadoran offensive. Having no choice, the Cygnar command thought it best to fall back to their own stronghold; a fortress of old, looking out over a sparse forest with the Stench Bog, an ancient Orgoth battle ground now filled in with evil and hatred left to decay, creating the backdrop of the advance. This fortress is one from the story books. This fortress is none other than The Lookout Bastion, the sentry point Ord once used to quell the Orgoth might. The Lookout Bastion is a two-towered fortress set atop a sheer cliff. It is comprised of thick walls and various earth-works which aid in its defensive potential. Night is about to set in. The wind is picking up, tensions are high and all that's left is to wait and see the outcome of the night.
Alright guys, so Cygnar got boned fairly hard. It may be safe to say, at this point, that Captain E. Dominic Darius suffered grievous wounds and was trained back to Cygnar-occupied territory to convalesce. He likely won't be seen on the battlefield again. Not anytime soon, anyways.
I have the next campaign already done. I was smart this time, drew a map up and created the next series of potential campaigns, depending on the winners.
Here is the run-down of this campaign:
---50pt lists, no redundancies as usual. This can be anything again, no 'jack/beast requirement like last time (though that was honestly really fun and if you really want to, we can put into place some kind of minimum 'jack requirement).
---No one plays 2 armies unless it's 2 armies on opposing sides (i.e. what Steve did this past campaign. It turns out really well, actually.)
---POSTPONED.
---Don't reserve a spot unless you absolutely 100% are sure you can make it. If emergencies arise, that's understandable.
4v4 is all we're honestly going to be able to fit in this campaign. You'll see why.
Each team is going to have a "Commander". This is the person, as per the fluff, who plays the caster with the highest rank in their army. Seeing as this is a Cygnar v. Khador campaign, the Commander can only be from those 2 factions. I will have a list (as I see it) of the rank of casters. Whoever plays the highest ranked caster in the list (please correct me if I am wrong on their rank as per the fluff) is deemed the "Commander". The "Commander" is what has to die or lose in this battle. Whichever side finishes off the enemy Commander wins the campaign.
example:
Ted and Tom are both Commanders, playing eStyker and eIrusk. Both Tom and Ted have 3 teammates. If Ted loses all 3 teammates, but somehow manages to kill Tom, Ted and the Khadorans win. It is the job of Tom's teammates to ensure that he doesn't die. It is Ted's position to conduct his team so that an effective siege of Lookout Bastion occurs.
Here is the list as I see it:
Rank of casters 1 is highest priority in descending order:
Cygnar/Khador
1. eStryker/eIrusk
2. eNemo/pIrusk
3. pStryker/eVlad
4. pNemo/pVlad
5. eHaley/eSorscha
6. Siege Brisbane/pButcher
7. pHaley/pSorscha
8. Darius/Karchev
9. Kara Sloan/Strakhov
10. Kraye/Old Witch
11. e,pCaine/Zerkova
265. Squire/Wardog
357. eButcher
We won't argue over these. I went by their rank and from the fluff I've read. It doesn't have to be exactly perfect, this is just a way to present who will be Commander. Otherwise, this is a defend scenario. The terrain will be placed according to the backstory above.
Teams:
Cygnar:
Rios-Cygnar, pHaley, B13.
Steve-Kara Sloan.
Neuman-Menoth, Harbinger.
Khador:
Ted-Khador, pVlad, Great Bears.
Greg-Khador, pSorscha.
Steve-Trollbloods.
