Well, myself and James attended the Fantasy team tournament at Adepticon this year. First we started on Saturday night by getting extremely intoxicated and then after 4-5 hours of sleep, up we went to Adepticon.
Our first game was against some good opponents who fielded the same races as us (Dark Elves and Skaven). They fielded a Hydra and Hell Pit abomination. This game ended in a draw.
The second game was by far the best. The Border Patrol brought a good list with little to no cheese and were great opponents. I can not emphasize this point enough. I have never had a bad time gaming went he opponents are fun to play against. These guys due to some lucky rolls on their part and some incredibly bad rolls on our part destroyed us...and yet the game was a blast.
The third game...well lets just say we lost...we were pretty much done by turn two and just wanted the game to end. Details available in person.
So while we didn't do well in battle points (though almost every game we got bonus battle points for finishing other objectives) we got some pretty good sports scores and we also got some decent painting scores too.
If you haven't attended Adepticon I highly suggest it. It is a great time. Some pics soon to follow...time for sleep.

This was my first year at Adepticon and I have to say overall it was a really great experience. I played in the 4-man 40k tourney on saturday afternoon. It was a bit rough going through, with about 25/110 teams using guard and at least 2 Vendettas....those things were everywhere. Out of the 4 rounds and 8 matches, our team had a record of 6-2, with a personal record for me of 4-0. Like Josh, we weren't able to score as many battle points as we would have liked. We placed 42/110 teams, which from what the other guys were saying was a good improvement on last year. A little disappointing nonetheless, but I was ecstatic with our team exceeding my hopes of at worst a 5-3 record. I hope to return next year, and possibly play more events. If anyone wants some info about each of the rounds, I can post more detail here later when I'm not on my way out to work =P or I can give the rundown next meeting this week.

I'd like to take a second to say that when Josh says we were done by turn 2, it had absolutely nothing to do with the game (which we were still in control of at that point) and everything to do with the opponents.
Also, I know alot of people avoid the big tournaments because they feel casual gamers don't have a place there. You should give it a shot. Yes, there's some cut throat cheese on apparently both sides of the fantasy/40k line, but the cheese lists are still often fielded by alot of the coolest guys gaming. In all seriousness if you aren't the kind of person who needs to win to have a good time, give it a shot, as it's definitely a great experience. And there's a little something for just about any kind of wargaming you're into, and just about every point size.

Not luck sir. We just played a really good first game and if it wasnt for a little luck in the last turn for our opponenets we would have had the win. Sadly the dice fall how they will.

40k team tournament points are up. Looks like Friz and crew were actually 55/110 instead of 42...sadz...

They must have recounted all the points...I notice all the teams have a different total than they did on saturday right after the tourney. It's all good though, I can understand errors made while trying to figure out the results of 440 games, lol.

While Jason and I were blanked in all of our Warmachine matches I did win the big registration raffle on Friday night and got one night at the hotel for free. Jason won a raffle at the midnight madness on Saturday and got a Retribution forces book...
So while we suck at gaming we are AWESOME at raffles!!

Nice job nice job. I got to take pictures of everyones stuff that I saw there. I just ripped the pics, maybe I will have a chance to post tonight.
I am not feeling up to driving out there tonight, as I got a ticket on the way to band practice monday night. I didnt have my insurance card (which I do have insurance)...so I have to go to court to prove I have it...
Sun was in my damn eyes and I missed the speed limit sign after getting off 355. Didn't know it was 25mph and I was going 44 apparently...although I don't remember going that fast.
So I have to go there to pay the ticket as well as show my proof of insurance in may. I don't really feel like tempting them to pull me over again. So I will be taking this week off. Jess is of Saturday so thats a no go.
Again, I will try and work on posting pictures tonight.
