8th ed. Chaos list 1500pts

I'm currently making lists for the new edition at my favorite Fantasy point level: 1500! I'm basically just slightly modifying what I already use. Here're my ideas:

Army 1: Beatstick, with magic

Chaos Lord (320)
- Chaos runesword
- Enchanted shield
- Talisman of Preservation (new common item!)
- Mark of Tzeentch

2+ armor save, 3+ ward save, 6 attacks at S6, WS9, I 7...raar smash-face!

Sorceror (190)
- lvl 2
- Book of Secrets
- Power Familiar
- Mark of Tzeentch

Because I like producing 2D6 + 2 power dice a turn...

18 Warriors (354)
- 2 hand weapons
- Halberds
- Shields
- Full command

20 Marauders (150)

Magic defense. Make their Miscasts worse and mine better, and because of the lower points, most sorcerors will be low level; the scroll should work decently. I really want a frog mini now!

So the Slann counts as a BSB and the General? Also, what do his items do?

yes gen and bsb. his standard gives his unit -1 to hit when shot at, -2 if within 12", so works good with the new cover rules....his focus give him a free dice every time he casts...case my 2d6 is low

I like the Lord on the first list, and your units are solid. I question the Book of Secrets though. It's my understanding that it turns the holder into a LVL 1 wizard, not adding a level. Seems counterproductive to spend 190 pts on a LVL 1 caster>>>

Yea, before the stupid FAQ, it was great. Now...not so much. It's just really lame, unfortunately. It was a great piece, now it's a piece of crap.

I use it on my Chosen champ sometimes. I used to take a blasted banner and the lore of fire to soften up whatever I was going to eat with the big unit. Not sure what to do with them in 8th though.
