So who would be interested in playing in this type of league set up. Check out the rules here: www.focusandfury.com/forum/index.php?board=9.0 The cost of entry may change and I would have to talk to Bear about prizes. I envision a 10 week season with 2 make up weeks (total run 12 weeks). This would be followed by a playoff season for division leaders and wild card teams. If this were to start the week after Labor Day the regular season would run till Thanksgiving (if I counted correctly) and then we can start the playoffs promptly after the season ends. We can run a playoff season as suggested by the FF rules or we can have all playoff teams compete in a single day, single elimination playoff season (so round one would have all teams play and winners advance to next round but season rules would apply between rounds). My only reason for the single day event is NIU finals and Winter break may keep people from playing so we could wrap everything up before then. I am also game for starting the league a week or two earlier. Anyway that can all be hashed out right now I want to see what interest is like for a league in this format for the fall. Post here or let me know at the store!

I think it would be a lot of fun and a much different format. I talked with Bear and he is on board with me running it.
My only concerns are number of players (20 players would allow for an optimum schedule but 16 is still doable) and players ability to get their games in as we will be following a schedule. We can all discuss buy in amounts as that will also be a concern. $20 is steep but with the chance to get $10 back in store credit at the end of the regular season it might not be too bad.

I am not sure at this point if I will be able to do something like this. I can't promise regular weekly attendance at this point.
Sounds awesome though.

I know a weekly drive out to DeKalb can be difficult but at least it doesn't have to be on a specific day.
I will see about getting an official sign up sheet. If we can get a minimum of 12 players I think we can give this league format a go... I would like to have 16-20 but that may be a bit of wishful thinking. Sound off here but I will have a tentative sign up board at the store listing all who want to play.

Just to let everyone know we have about half (6) the minimum number of people needed to start the league signed (but not paid) up. Six more people and we can start the league but remember the more the better!

Does that include me? if not I'm in with Legion of Everblight. Also, im planning on using Lylyth but I like her epic version better is it ok if i use that model instead for this league? thanks

Rios, I don't think it does but you get us one closer to the magic number 12! You can use the caster and I will allow proxy of casters only of the same type. So pSorscha can be used as a proxy for eSorscha. Just make sure your opponent knows which you are using.
Also note that if you caster is down for a game that it counts as all versions of that named caster. So is pVlad goes down for me (never going to happen but good for an example) the next match I cannot use pVlad or eVlad.
If your not signed up on the board I will put you up this week.

I really need to get back into the game. Keep in mind I am moving in a month and a half, and will finally have room to have a painting area. It sucked in my current place...
I will also have room to play the game at my place if anyone wishes to come out to Dekalb, game, drink, and then crash in the extra room. Let me know after October 9th lol.

Attention all Warmachine/Hordes players we still need four more players in order to get the league to fly. We are still looking to start the week after Labor Day so if your interested sign up on the white board at New Game in Town or drop me a line here.
Rios: point value for the league will be 25 pt armies for the first four weeks then 35 pt armies for the remainder of the league matches. All playoff games will be at 50 pts.
Characters will not be limited so, for example, if I am playing Khador and want to play pVlad and someone else is playing pVlad it is all good. (as long as your caster wasn't injured in the previous match)
Speaking of injury if one form of a caster is injured both forms will not be available in the next game.
Keep the questions coming and I am hoping that we get those last four players.
Delso you moving back up here? Well we are always up for a game and hopefully if you have the time you could join the league. We have two make up weeks so if you miss some games you will have the chance to make them up.

Just bumping this listing to remind you we have one week left to sign up for the Warmachine/Hordes Fall League. We have 10 signed up (as of last Thursday 8/26) and need just two more to make this league a go. If your interested it should be fun and we would be happy to have you. good for all levels of experience and a great way to learn and get in some games.

Bye/Make-up Week (10/4-10/10)
Week #6 (10/11-10/17) Robbie at Jason Rios at Greg Bryan at Bear Tom K. at Brian K. Andrew K.at Adam Week #7 (10/18-10/24) Adam at Brian K. Bear at Tom K. Final Bye/Make-up Days 11/5-11/19
Knock Out Tourney: Sunday 11/21
*Top Eight Teams Advance to Knock Out **Scoring Wins/Assassinations/Total CP/ Total KP Okay we are going about eleven weeks with the final knock out tourney tentatively (depending on store schedule) set for Sunday, November 21st (weekend before Thanksgiving) There will be one bye week for make up games four weeks in (10/4-10/10) and then week eleven monday through saturday (11/15-11/20) as Sunday 11/21 is the tourney.
Format is one division and everyone plays each team in league once and top eight teams move on. Team teams does not lend itself to a clean scheduler for what I was looking to do.
The games for the first four weeks (up to bye week one) will be at 25 points. After the bye week games will be at 35 points till end of season. Knock out tourney will be 50 point games. Senarios should be random following the updated Steam roller 2010 rules. I will try to post senarios on the wall along with a score board.
Match stats need to be to me by Sunday night so I can update on Monday and try to post by Tuesday. Store white board will have full stats (wins/assassinations/Control pts/Kill points) all web postings will just show ranking.
BTW kill points is when you kill a beast/unit/solo/caster is worth one point. solos worth less than two points do not count and if you destroy 50% of a unit it counts as a kill point. beasts and casters have to be completely killed to count for a kill point.
remember some senarios will give control points while some will not...
I will be in the store tommorrow around 7 to answer questions and give further details. feel free to post questions on line here if you can't make it.
Good luck and get playing those games.
