So I picked up a couple packages of Chaos objective markers from thewarstore. At $6, I think these are totally awesome. There are more available, including down arrows and eagles. I would get the birdies but they're out of stock at the moment.

You get a pack of 5 of these two-piece objective markers:
They're made from 3mm thick fluorescent and transparent acrylic, just like what Gale Force 9 produces. They can slot together and stand, but sometimes the fit isn't snug, so good ol' plastic glue to the rescue.
Since they are essentially mounted on a cross, and most objective games (where you'll be using the thing) like to have it on a nice round base for ease of measurement, that's exactly what I did.
It fits perfectly well on a 40mm round base, and while you could stick it to a 25mm, the arrow tips overhang the edges and don't look so good. So in my case I put them on the larger base.
Here it is with its chaotic buddies. Rawr!
All in all, well worth the minimal cost.
