So I want to paint my valkyrie completely black, because I just do. However, is there a "better" way to go about it, other than black spray and highlights? I've heard stuff like paint it grey and shade down etc, but I'm not sure on that technique. Thoughts?

I had painted some pieces of mapboard because I too wanted to paint my Inquisitor Rhino black, and that's what I used to try a few different ways. Just straight black with highlights was boring, so I tried the reverse shading like you said. I stared with shadow grey, and mixed it with a bit of black and went from there, seemed to work alright but I never did get it on the rhino. I imagine that with a combination of highlights would look pretty damn spiffy though...

I know the grey technique works best with basic figures and cloaks and the like.
The way I go about it with my Eldar is straight black with highlights, and I like it. But I'm open to explore more idears.
