Hmm, what will it do against Wave Serpents and Thunderwolves? Those are the two hardest units I expect to see this weekend.

Wave Serpents would be a challenge, but how many can be fielded at 400, one, maybe 2. In the case of them, I would deep strike the suits and use the fusion weapons.
As for the dreaded Thunderwolves. How many can a person field at 400 points? I have to assume that they have a 3+ save and T5.
The list I worry about is the 5 Horrors and 7 Bloodcrushers. Since we are playing on 4x4 tables, I would expect my opponent to aim for the middle, so I want to play a denial game with the table.
Ork hordes could be another problem for me as I lack the firepower for any true horde. Gaunts w/ warriors at the core would be another challenge.

Theoretically, a person could cram in 5 with some wargear.
The horror/bloodcrusher combo could be devastating, but if you kill 5 measly horrors they have no Troops...I imagine at least one or two missions requires them. That and I don't expect anybody that's going to actually have that many, but we'll see I guess.

Made a slight change to give me a few more shots and potential.

Horrors can be tough to bring down with the 4+ Inv. Still, I agree, 5 is not enough to hold off much of anything and really only there to grab an objective. As for the bloodcrushers, if it was me, I would go with 6 models and bulk up the horrors.
I have not played against the new wolves, so can the T-wolves scout, inflitrate, deep strike. How many wounds per model? I am assume they move 6", fleet, charge 12", which could be a problem and require me to sit and focus fire. I would also need to select a unit to be a speed bump (vespid or stealth team) against them, especially if I need my fire warriors.

They're Beasts, so 6", D6", 12" charge.
S5, T5 base (so no S8 kill), 4 attacks (I think, could be 3, but they can have two ccw's), rending, 3+ armor, could have 3+ inv, could have all different weapons to spread wounds around.
On the plus side, there won't be any more models in the army than 5 grey hunters.
Oh, and remember for the wave serpents, you'll have to be in the rear to use the 2D6 pen, as the energy field protects the front and sides.
Also, been looking through the participants, and here's what I can guesstimate:
1 SM (me) 2 Tau (you and Artur) 1 Ork (Fred) 1 Eldar (Tom)
and the rest I don't know. Fred's a good player, Tom and Artur are okay (played Artur a few months ago, great guy)

Here's my Combat Patrol list, barring any changes this week:
Tactical Squad (190) - meltagun - rocket launcher - plasma pistol
Rhino (35)
Landspeeder Typhoon (90)
Whirlwind (85)
This gives me sufficient anti-vehicle (3 S8 at 48", 4 at 12") and <T4 instant kill potential, while the whirlwind delivers the pain on infantry except MEQs. Bolters assist. Alternatively, I drop the plasma pistol and upgrade to a razorback, plasma cannon, and meltabombs.

Fortman - Have played him many times. He likes to number crunch his armies (believe he is a math teacher), so he is a challenge at any point level.
Is Tom, Redbeard on the AWC forums? How would you rate the painting of each player?
I wish we had time before Saturday to test drive against each other.

Redbeard is Alex Kallend, so at least at the moment he's not playing.
Artur's Tau isn't bad, but it's not GD worthy. Tom paints decently enough, though nothing personally I'd like to steal heh. Beyond that I dunno. My paint won't be great because this is the army from 12 years ago...it has character being the way it is and I like it.

I am just curious since I am going to need to rely on soft scores to have any chance with Tau. Don't want to give the impression that I think I am all that when it comes to painting, cus I am not by a far shot.
Seems like AP weapons are going to be more important than mass fire.
Didn't Fred post he was looking at daemons or nids.
Not surprised that no one is playing necrons or dark eldar, though DE could get nasty fast. Nids, I am still thinking Fred will bring bugs, just a hunch. What about IG. Someone could bring a nasty little force of one platoon.

In a turn of events, I can get this saturday off and plan on attending. I could bring Necrons, if for nothing else than to flaunt my new babies.....but i'm sure i'll fall back on the orks and get destroyed by people playing Whirlwinds....

Haha, I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one, but we'll see John (Clemens) plans on bringing a platoon, if he's going to go.

Bring the necrons, if for no other reason that it would be different from what everyone else is playing. 10 warriors 3 destroyers 1 heavy destroyer would be a nice mix.
Talking about orks, what do we expect to see? Horde army, Killer Kan spam, or something else?

Last change, due to the fact that I forgot I needed to upgrade the Monat suit to a Shas'vre to get the ion cyclic blaster.

I was torn between what to do....it's either 10 Warriors, 3 Destroyers, and 1 Heavy Destroyer...or 10 Warriors, 3 Destroyers, and 5 Scarab Swarms.....

The scarabs are good for tying up stuff, but don't really have the ability to remove enemy units. Also, the Str 9 shot from the heavy cannon can be useful for lone models and vehicles w/ AV 12. Either list would be fun to play against, I just prefer the Heavy D over swarms at this size.

Agreed.
I dunno John, your 17 models still seem just to squishy and short ranged to be effective...maybe I'm thinking too much like a space marine player, but all I see are easy kills.

Very squishy. If any of my units get into hth, I am dead. I am playing a game of luck with this army. An optimized list would have dropped the vespid and a couple stealth suits and included a pair or three pirahna.
I expect to play alot of my games with 2+ units in reserve and either deep striking or inflitrating. My units will need to hit hard on the turn they arrive, otherwise I am going down fast.
