Week 1:Forces from various races have descended upon the city of Vogen once again to claim it, for good or ill. As the harshest winter ever forecast approaches, most of the opposing armies rush to claim the territory they can. Dangers lurk around every corner, so it is inevitable that some may run into hostile forces. The only combat action seen is upon the windswept Gibbet Hill in the northeast quarter. Vile Traitor Guard worshipping the Chaos god Nurgle swept in to seize the arsenal and prime firing location for their artillery. What they were not expecting was the lightly armed contingent of Necrons already in place, digging down into the island for some unknown purpose. Acid rain fell as the attack started at dawn, fittingly searing and cleansing the Traitor Guard of the disgusting sores they carried. Most took shelter, but a few more fervent soldiers ran through it anyway to gain what advantage they could. For this they were punished, and a few fell, screaming in agony at the rain buring through their flesh. The Necrons took their toll of men, but in the end the Traitor Guard were able to destroy enough of them to force the rest to cut their losses and disappear mysteriously into thin air. What the Necrons were digging for there, nobody will ever know. [aerial picts of combat action] Also, since it is the holidays and most people will be occupied, the next two weeks are Christmas in Vogen! That means bad winter storms prevent anyone from advancing further into the city, but you may put out two dots of fortifications in your claimed territories as you build up defenses for the next push. Just let me know via PM or whatever where you want them and I'll do it accordingly. The fortification dot symbol may look strange to you, but rest assured the comedy factor is appropriate!

Just a quick thing: The map will be updated tomorrow. I've only received fortification orders from Caleb and Ian S., so anyone else who hasn't yet provided them needs to do so before Thursday. Otherwise you've missed your chance!
The map has been updated. As promised, the fortification symbol is comedy flavored, but also makes a point: it punches like pepper!
And yes Ian, perhaps you should do Iron Warriors...once you get the fluff for them squared post it!
Remember, we meet this week for the campaign to continue!

Weeks 2 & 3:
With the city too cold to move around, the various forces put up what fortifications they can in an effort to fend off other invaders.

Week 4:
The Iron Warriors in the west gathered more territory by taking the Dealer's Accomodations without much incident; however, more than a few personel have mysteriously disappeared without a trace. The rest don't care. They now are trying to capture the Arbites Precinct House, but with the current residents being heavily armed that might prove a challenge even to the mighty warriors.
The Emperor's Children in the northeast took control of the various hab districts in an effort to set up brothels for their many, many slave girls. Reports are coming in from hidden observers that these are booming businesses.
Foul-smelling Traitor Guard took advantage of the warmer weather by utilizing the facilities at the Spaceport. Soon, rotting Valkyries and other aircraft buzzed across the city to disgorge their pustulent cargo in the southern sectors. Diseased units started to spread like a plague in the Imperials' rear, forcing them to act.
The Ultramarines moved to secure vital symbols of the Imperium by taking control of Angel Square and the Basilica Imperialis. They vowed to not let them fall and be defiled by the encroaching forces of Chaos and set their defenses. Likewise, the Cadians that made planetfall secured the 122nd Cadian HQ building, linking up with the forces within to plan their next move.
Unopposed, the Eldar have been capturing one district after another, establishing a very strong presence in the city. This accelerated pace is sure not to last, with other forces coming within range to attack.
Dark Eldar in the northwest attempted to wrest control of the district north of the Trading Houses from the remnants of the Cadian 122nd still in the city but were unsuccessful. Heavy losses forced their withdrawal, although more than a couple unlucky Guardsmen were captured for whatever nefarious reason the Dark Eldar have. Now they've set their sights on the Iron Warriors holdings in the Dealer's Accomodation; perhaps the Astartes' physiology excites them.

"Iron within. Iron without." The chant continued over the vox as the Iron Warriors continued fortifying the ruins around them. Setting up fire lanes. Digging traps and trenches. Bronsk surveyed all this through the vid feeds from his servo-skulls. He nodded with a sense of pride. All was going according to plan. Well, almost all. He had lost contact with Torred's squad in the Dealer's Accomedations. This vexxed him mightilly. It wasn't like his trusted lieutenant to go silent. Bronsk would have to deal with this personally.
Suddenly a proximity alert from the edge of the accomedations lit up. When Bronsk and his guards arrived, they found Torred staggering aimlessly in the street. What was left of him at least. Torred was missing both arms and his augmetics had been torn from his flesh. A long curved knife was protruding from his side. "What manner of filth did this?", Brosk howled.
Torred fell to his knees, coughing up blood. "All dead. All of them. Even Arvis. Took five to bring him down. Dark shapes. Fast. So damn fast." His babbling ended in another fit of blood-drenched coughing.
"Who. Did. This?" Bronsk roared, bringing Torred back to some semblence of lucidity.
"Eldar. The depraved ones. Almost as bad as the Emperor's Children." Another coughing fit. More blood pooled around him. "They breeched our lines before we had finished them." With a final wheezing cough, Torred fell forward and grabbed a hold of Bronsk's armoured knee. "Avenge... us... my lord..." His body slumped forward, a mere husk now. All life drained from it.
Bronsk shoved Torred's body aside. "Salvage what you can." The Eldar would pay dearly. Bronsk sighed. The Arbites would live another day.

Week 5:
Little to be said for this week thus far. The Ultramarines launched a lightning attack against the Iron Warriors in Sniper's Alley North, seizing the ground and inflicting some punishing casualties for little in return.
The Plague forces in the city's south began to shamble toward the Cadian HQ, sensing easy meat. The results of that are yet to be seen.
Space Wolves in the north west were last seen sneaking toward the North Road Gate; for what purpose only the Emperor knows.

Week 6:
Battles erupted all over the city this week, with many forces engaged with more than one enemy.
The Dark Eldar, engaging the Iron Warriors as a feint, stealthly make their way toward the valuable Water Purification Plant, which would allow them to attack anywhere in the city.
Suffering some casualties from the gun towers they bypassed, the Ultramarines make plans to capture one or both. They are simultaneously attacked by the disease-ridden Traitor Guard in the southeast at the Basilica Imperialis, and only a desperate defense of the holy place will prevent its defilement.
Having had their fill of delicious entertainment, the Emperor's Children rouse their ire against the Eldar positioned in the Palace Grounds (ironically, the ones who would bring about the Emperor's Children to worship Slaanesh in the first place).
Not being slackers, the Eldar are attempting to wrest control of the other half of the Mercantile and Pleasure District from the pox-ridden hands of the Traitor Guard; apparently the more lithe wenches are over there.

Iron Warriors take the unnamed sector from the Tau. It is our building dammit. (mutters something about needing Ahriman's help to do so...)

Week 7:
Attempting to seize a foothold to attack the Palace of Peace, the Emperor's Children attacked the Eldar in the Palace Grounds but were repulsed.
The Space Wolves, Ultramarines, and Iron Warriors all made progress against forces roaming the city, taking locations important to their plans.
Launching a second assault on the Cadian HQ, the diseased Traitor Guard were able to force a breach, having left some of the loyal Cadians infected from the first battle. Their weakness was apparent, and the Commissars took their toll of corrupted fellows. It wasn't enough though, and the Traitor Guard broke in, forcing the Cadians to flee to the Railhead districts and regroup.

Week 9:
For yet another week, the Traitor Guard have held off repeated attacks by the Cadians to their north. They've not been sitting idle elsewhere, retaking their former positions in the Mercantile and Pleasure district from the Eldar. An aerial attack was also launched against the Space Wolves in the district south of the Vogen Theatre House, though the results of that are as yet undetermined.
The Eldar have been assailed on many fronts, being pushed back by both the Traitor Guard in the north and the Ultramarines in the south, leaving the undefensible Palace Grounds to the Astartes. Surrounded by enemies on all sides, the forces remaining at Building 235 fortified their position from attack.
The Space Wolves continued to burn their way south through the Iron Warriors, scattering their forces from the Execution Square. They've also attacked the Dark Eldar at the Trading Houses, but have not yet come to blows.
The Ultramarines simply consolidated their position further by taking control of the other gun tower. The meagre forces there were easily crushed under the Imperial boot.
Come on Chaos players! Kick it in and beat some people to get those points!
Also, at this point I'd like to say that this campaign will end in an Apocalypse game, sometime in the future.

Week 10: The Ultramarines, after weeks spent building up resources, launched a grand assault upon the Palace of Peace. Despite inflicting some heavy casualties (and receiving them), including the destruction of their leader, the Necrons already in the palace were able to repel the attack. Falling back in good order, the Ultramarines abandoned the Palace Grounds and Sniper's Alley North to consolidate their numbers in a more defensible position. Five factions now eye the location to take for their own purposes...
Seeing their withdrawal, the Iron Warriors retook their positions in the Sniper's Alley in an effort to expand their real estate.
With their numbers spread more thinly, however, the Space Wolves continued their howling warpath across the city, cutting off the warriors in the Alley from the rest. They now set their sights on the Tau threat to the west.

With the final moves in place, the campaign is drawn to a close then. With the upcoming events and such and waning interest, it is time. However, it's all worked to my hopes and all's well that ends well!
However, war is not so cut and dry. The forces of the Imperium have only managed to recapture 51% of the valuable locations, including the Arbites holding out at their bastion. The forces of Chaos control a nice 25% of the locations, while the aliens in the city have 13% of it. The Palace of Peace is as yet unclaimed except by the nefarious warriors that have had control of it since the start, and battle is just a street corner away...
