Spring Warmachine/Hordes slow-grow league
League Information
Duration: The League will begin on Sunday, January 9th, and last for approximately 10 weeks, at which point there will be a final tournament with prizes. The cost will be free; the club will be petitioned to produce prizes for the outcome from club funds.
The Week: I will announce your opponents the Sunday morning of the new week. You will then have until the next Sunday morning to complete your battle with that opponent at the appropriate point level. I will attempt to make sure those same factions do not face each other for the first week. (I will try to have a definitive list of opponents posted for the weeks to come once I know who all is interested in the league)
The Armies: Each person shall choose their faction at the beginning of the league. They will limit themselves to two warcasters that they shall use throughout the league, though there are no other army limitations. (The limit is set because there are some of us starting new factions that may only have two warcasters, and this is meant to be a learning/practice type league to get better with warcasters we might not normally use as well as whole new armies and trying to get new people to open up to the game)
The Lists: Each person shall build their army list once their opponent and their faction is known to them. There are no limitation lists such as mangled metal or highlander, though people can feel free to do these limited lists if they see fit.
The list costs are as follows:
Week 1-2: 15 pt lists
Week 3-4: 25 pt lists
Week 5-6: 35 pt lists
Week 7-9: 50 pt lists
Week 10: 50 pt Tourney
The Battles: Battles will be fought using the most updated Steamroller rules set and scenarios. Scenarios will be generated randomly before each battle using the Steamroller rules set included in the packet (This can be found on the Privateer Press website under the organized play tab) privateerpress.com/files/Revised_SR2010(2)_0.pdf
Scoring: Each person shall score based on certain victory conditions achieved through either the completion of the scenario or through the assassination of the opponents warcaster/warlock. Wins/Losses will be the main scoring, followed by caster kills, followed by victory points scored, and finally by survivor points. Since this is normally determined by a timed tournament, all scenarios shall last 6 rounds. [There will be No ties, in the event that both parties reach the end of the turns allotted by the scenario with no clear winner, then the winner shall be determined by most victory points scored (if not enough to win scenario otherwise) or by their survivor points (warcasters/warlocks are considered worth 5 pts.)]
Any questions or concerns just let me know.
