According to a tweet I received, the codex hits stores in April! www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=14300088a&_requestid=378043"This April Games Workshop releases Codex: Grey Knights, alongside a comprehensive range of fantastically detailed Citadel miniatures. Although details are being kept firmly under wraps for now, you can expect an exciting selection of plastic kits to enable you to build your own Grey Knights army. Over the coming weeks we'll be releasing more details both here on the Games Workshop website and also in the pages of White Dwarf - to ensure you're the first to get the news, make sure you subscribe to the Games Workshop newsletter and keep an eye on the What's New Today blog."

Also, since you asked what was redone, like I said basically the entire line, since it was only the two different squad types in the first place. Their dreadnought is likely special and pretty, plus they get the Storm Raven, new characters, etc.

I haven't heard anything official, but I assume this will be completely replacing the Daemonhunters Codex...so I won't be able to take pure inquisitor forces anymore....lame.

Right. Also have heard that they are taking Inquisition almost completely out of this codex, but that remains to be seen.

Well one thing is for sure since GW is not making as much of a profit they will be cutting the less popular codex. Space Marines will never die IMO. It is what all the little Giner Noobs play. I stopped at the GW store in Orland Park after class to check the local tail in the mall and harass the people at the mac store . I saw 3 12 y/0 ginger kids playing space marines. That just got into the game cause i over heard the Employee talking to them and i knew the whole thign they do. I hate going into their stores.

I'm over in Blue Island, and Jason and Mike at that shop have to be two of the better guys I've met that work in GW stores. They're not pushy, and if you give them the impression you know what you're talking about they give you breathing room. I'd like to get some sort of regular gaming schedule in and that's the closest place to play, but I don't know the local gamers (the older ones preferably) all that well.

Just be a local and everything's fine. Most GW staff are actually pretty cool when they're not selling stuff.

That is it when they are not selling. I stopped going into that store awhile ago and it is completely changed (employees). I was around when Dan Duck was the manager @ ORland and not the bunker so it has been awhile. Jason seems cool though one of my better run ins with GW employees. If you have a chance or are able to Randy and I will be down at the DR saturday (he went into a ditch and doesn't have a vehicle) So i'll be picking him up. I'll be bringing my 40k/fantasy and malfo and magic he probably will too. Also there may be another(friend scotty knew him for years) comming down to play 40k as well depending on stuff. We are trying to push 40k/fantasy at the peotone hobbystore (Dragons refuge). If you want let me know if oyu want ot play and we can possible meet up. send me an email sps6248&@hotmail.com

First peek from a pdf:
GK grand master - 175pts Ws 6 Bs 5 S4 T4 W3 I5 A3 ld10 Sv2+ Terminator Armour, Storm Bolter, Nemesis Force Sword, Frag and Krack, psyk-out grenades, iron halo. Has a variety of wargear options.
Rules: ATSKNF Preferred enemy (Deamons) Psyker (level 1) The Aegis
Grand Strategy:
Pick D3 units at the start of the game(any infantry, jump infantry, MC's or Walkers). These units all receive one of these options (all units take the same one):
Hammer of Righteusness: Units re roll wound rolls of "1" during the game. Shield of blades: units gain counter attack. Spear of light: units gain scout. Unyeilding Anvil: units can claim objectives as if they were troop.
Um...massive giggity. I so can't wait for my GK to be mega-awesome again!

I'll take it with a pinch of salt, especially considering there was an entire fake BA codex on the intertubes before their launch, but it's interesting to see. There's also a couple of details we're missing that kind of prevent us from making an informed evaluation here:
*What do psyk-out grenades do? *What does The Aegis do in the new book? *What in the hell does Psyker (Level 1) mean?
The Grand Strategy sounds pretty cool though, and it lends credence to the rumors about the "Dread Knight" MC.

I imagine the psyk-out grenades will be similar to the current ones that the Culexus has, maybe the Aegis too.
As for the psyker bit, that's the direction books will likely start to take for ease of reference. Psyker (Level 1) means he can use a single power in a player turn. An Epistolary would be a (Level 2) for his two powers, and Eldrad/Tigurius (Level 3) for their three powers, etc.

I am a bit disappointed that he's only W6 and 3 attacks. I'd figure a GK Grandmaster would be a cut above your regular SM Captain. Though it could be I'm expecting to much CC badassery when he's got other rules like psychic powers and Grand Strategy. And it could be there are some GK psychic powers that would make him a lot more dangerous.

Indeed, that 4th attack did put him above the rest before...I'll definitely miss it!
[edit] There are Grandmasters, and there is the actual super-Grandmaster of all Grey Knight-dom. His statline is boss.

Ookay, totally disregard my comment about Holocaust...in fact I'll delete it. Also, in regards to the Aegis, any unit casting a psychic power aimed at a unit with Aegis (every single Grey Knight unit has it) suffers penalties to its Leadership on the test. When within 12" of a Dreadnought, it's far harsher....
Got my hands on the pdf.
oh.
giggity.
All of the following now has this disclaimer: "If it turns out this way..."
...this will (again) be the absolute fluffiest army list ever, and that makes me soooo happy. So much fluff and awesomeness!
...you can use inquisitors from Ordo Malleus, Hereticus, and Xenos (!). Karamazov is in with new rules.
...everything got better, except for Vindicare's still wounding on a 4+, and C'tan sword no longer ignore Inv saves, and the fact that no GK are Fearless and instead have the same Ld as Marines. On the other hand, every single GK unit is a Psyker with a nifty power and everything's cheaper...
...you can have weaponsmith-orangutan-like creatures in your Inquisitorial Henchman squad(s). Not only would it be hot to have weapon-monkeys on the table, but they can shoot lascannons out their ass. Well, not really out their ass, but seriously why would you not take them for the sheer awesome of throwing monkeys at your enemy!
...GKT are Troops. heh. heheh. hehehee. HEHEHEHEHEHEE!!!!!
...standard GK squads can make a once-per-game teleport jump move (as jump infantry) of almost as far as a heavy bolter can shoot. Can't assault afterwards.
...standard GK hafta pay for halberds. Yep, now there's a rules difference between a Nemesis sword, halberd, hammer, falchion, and stave! Awesome!
...15 HQ options, 9 Elite options, 2 Troops options, 1 Fast Attack option, and 6 Heavy Support options.
...7 new Grey Knight-specific units, though the Storm Raven is one of them (and better than the BA one!).
...the Vindicare's Turbo-penetrator now has a potential penetration value of 7-27.
...and etc. If you want to check it out I'll have it at meetings every Thursday.

Jokaero in a GK codex you say? Interesting. And I like the idea of footsloggers getting a teleport move, that's pretty cool.

Yep, tis the Jokaero. I haven't found them mentioned before; are they referenced in the Deathwatch books?
