I've been thinking it might be fun, instead of playing a long, drawn out campaign like we did last winter, to instead play a single, apoc-style game over the course of a day. Start when the shop opens, end whenever it gets done. I could talk to Bear about it if it was going to go past closing time. I was thinking 75-100pts per person, with a campaign-appropriate scenario. I have the campaign planned out.
I'd like to gauge how many players we could get and what point level people would be able to do. I'm hoping to get 12 people for this. I will talk to Bear about promoting it.
Here is the basic premise...
The day is a day of battle. Everyone arrives at the store when it opens. We will decide teams on here, as per what is most fluffy.
Each team will get a map upon arrival at the store. There will be room for a 3v3 battle on one of the tables, a 2v2 battle and a 1v1 battle. Depending on what survives the small battles, the winners can "reinforce" the main, 3v3 table after their battles are over.
Each team rolls for deployment and then goes to a secure location, away from the other team and decides who is fighting in which battle. The team who won the roll gets to decide whether to deploy first or second.
Deployment is going to be semi-blind. By this I mean the team that deploys second will have to go upstairs while team 1 deploys their stuff and strategizes where and why they are putting everything places-sort of coming up with a game plan.
team 2 comes downstairs and deploys. AD is done with both teams present right before the game starts.
There won't be timed turns. If you can't devote a large chunk of the day to this, you probably shouldn't play in it.
We've never done an Apoc-style game before. I think it might be fun to see how it goes. If it's really not fun, we won't ever have to do it again.
Let me hear who's on board and if there are any other things you'd like added to the whole thing.
List of people who could do it and their armies:
Ted (Khador)
Steve (Cygnar/Trolls)
