I'm starting the painting process on my fiancée's Tomb Kings, and I really liked the simple tricks I've found. What do you think:







In all, took about 10 minutes of actual work, not including dry time.

Is that a simple wash on the bones and shield? Looks good Drew.

The real question is how did you get her to play! I need whatever spell you conjured!

Haha...well she's always been a kinda gamer, more like xbox and cards and stuff though.

I don't quite remember how. I think it went along the lines of "I'll teach you and help acquire you an army" and she picked Chaos because she's cool like that.

I'm going to bet it was the magic juice anyway. Sure, yours is potent enough to produce a baby, but perhaps it needs a bit more oomph...


As for the skeleton, it's simple:

- khemri brown base coat
- white drybrush
- Gryphonne Sepia wash

The shield and gold:
- shining gold
- mechrite red
- Devlan mud wash

Just finished the BSB converted from the Necrosphinx kit.

Great Conversion Andrew. I was gonna do the same thing but wasnt sure how the necrosphinx skeletons would look stand alone with out the the howdah. It turned out really nice.

The two that can stand alone look best, while the rest need some sort of thingy to stand on like the King. I really didn't like that "beetles flying from corpse" bit for the functionality; he gets into combat but has to stand an inch away.

Sepulchral Stalkers are done! Now, I need to just paint 60 skittles in 3 days...piece of cake.

Hmm, I know this is not necessarily the same scale (25mm tabletop, ~1/1800 naval), but here it is anyway, the Curse of Zandri!








I painted it in my black/red color scheme, rather than the stock scheme. Makes it more personal I think, plus I can always then say it's the ship my army takes from place to place .
