So while the football league and slow grow leagues are fun the idea tossed around on Saturday was for a campagin were we could use jack bonding rules and such. Who would be up this format and how would we want to run it?
I figure if we did it would be a bit story driven and we could meet once or twice a month to push the story along.
We could start with low points (20-25) and build as the story grows.
Someone also mentioned building our own warcaster/warlocks... I think that woud be awesome and had some ideas on how that could be done.
So post here if you are interested and thoughts on how this would work...

I'm in for this for sure. Would love to make my own Warcaster. I think that would be a fun idea. are we looking to do a map based campaign. I started working on one so I have some ideas how things can work for it.

Really hadn't put much more thought into how things would go beyond, "its cool to use the jack bonding rules and maybe make are own casters."
I think a map campaign might work but a story campaign might play easier. It is definitely something we can talk about and see what works best. I am open to all ideas.
For building casters I wanted to build a listing of faction spells so you can build up a war caster... like cygnar basic spells are arcane shield, arcane bolt, etc. Advance spells would be chain lightning, snipe, etc... but with a list of everything with a point value you can build a "1st level" warcaster... just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing for the warcaster stuff...like you have so many points to spread into abilities like spd and mat and base spells at a point level as well. I think a story campaign would work better as well.

The atributes will be easy to figure out it will be getting the list of spells for each faction and then catagorizing them by power level... I guess focus cost would be a good start there. also weapons... Hmmm we will have to noodle some of this out on Thursday.

Yea I was trying to fabricate some templates and I realized that Warcasters/Warlocks have all these static abilities and special weapon characteristics that are hard to categorize into a point buy system. I didn't even get to spells and feats and I was flustered. But I think I figured out a neat way to do the baseline stats and focus

I made this thing a while ago for running an IK campaign, it would require some re-working for point values and stuff to fit perfectly back into the warmachine / hordes rules, but I could probably do the whole thing in a half hour. Let me know! The good stuff starts on page 7. Attachments:

Ben,
That looks like a good start. I think you mentioned this on Saturday so I am glad that you checked in and posted. I think you have most of the stuff covered.
Feats would be a bit challenging and so may spells but I think you have given us a great framework to build off of.
Would we buy spells? It seems to me that for casters there are common type spells (like razor wind, arcane shield, venom) and then increasing to specailized like boundless charge, and then signature spells like signs and portents or blood of kings. (I use Khador cuz I most familiar with them.) do we want to build facation spell lists or let everyone mix and match... not sure I want to see a khador caster with access to arcane shield!
What do the rest of ya all think?

I like the faction specific ones. I dont think people should make up their own spells though. Feats are still going to be tough on the other hand.

I think we will have a lot to talk about on Thursday!
Anyone else who is interested please chime in on this.

I'm definitely interested, although I'm not sure ho comfortable I am with the concept of making our own warcasters. That seems like something that could very easily break the game when we are already adding the unique bonds to the mix.
