GW is running a summer campaign for Storm of Magic games. I wanna play, dangit people come play!
Welcome to Scourge of the Storm - the Warhammer summer campaign for 2011.
As wargamers, we all love a good military campaign, where we can pit our wits against our opponents and, more importantly, grind their army into dust on the field of battle. So this summer, we've started Scourge of the Storm, an online campaign for Warhammer, complete with results uploader, results tracker, a Hall of Fame and even a brand new blog style - swanky, eh? The whole idea is to see which race can gain dominance over this summer's Storm of Magic. There aren't any prizes as such, but there are bragging rights for the winning race, which, as we all know, is an important part of wargaming etiquette.
The whole system is very simple to use. Whenever you play a Storm of Magic battle, simply come to this page to record your results. Choose your army from the drop down menu on the right, select whether you won, lost or drew your game; find the army you fought against and then click the submit button. That's it!
You can even take part in Storm of Magic battles in your local Games Workshop, where the games they run will have an even greater impact on the whole campaign. The army currently dominating the campaign up to that point will be displayed beneath Von Michelbach's Barometer of Race-specific Magical Aptitude (also known as the results tracker). Make sure you check back on a regular basis to see the incoming results. We'll also be updating this blog with tales or heroism and valour. Or, failing that, tales of hilarious defeat and imminent ridicule.
So, what are you waiting for? Raise your Arcane Fulcrums, marshal your armies, recruit a couple of wizards and get playing Storm of Magic. You've got until the 27th of August before the Storm dissipates and the campaign for total magical supremacy ends.
Then we'll see which army is the most dominant...
