So not sure how valid it is but I found myself in a GW store tonight and the associate mentioned them opening a store in dekalb. Thoughts?

its possible. Alot of people drive in west and south (like Shabbona and Dixion) of Dekalb to shop but I don't think it would be a good business idea for GW. Isn't there a store in Rockford? Not sure how well that store is doing and Rockford has a larger population base then Dekalb. I don't know how much of an impact it would have if they opened a store in town. I would still be doing stuff and buying at New Game but then I don't play GW stuff much anymore. My guess it would open a place closer to Walmart/Hobby Lobby then by campus but you never know.

There are open businesses in the downtown 38 area; shops that aren't being used. I'd guess either over there, or yea in the main strip like Greg says. Old Navy will be closing down soon, plus the empty space that is Borders, I'm sure they'll be happy to have a place in there.

With how they've cut back employees and closed stores over the last year or so, I'd be really shocked if they opened a new one there now.

I talked to my trusted mook, and he said Dekalb would probably never happen. A college town doesn't have any money, and GW is currently way overstretched in northern Illinois. Most likely in the next two years, they'll be closing down the Algonquin, Rockford, and one other store I can't remember. Geneva might get a 2nd staffer because they are the best shop in the state (gotta love being in rich town).
