Hey guys. I've been seeing a general trend towards Death Clock lately for most tournaments in the area and for bigger tournaments. I think this is something that we should look into training for and getting used to if we want to have better showings at tournaments. Idk what do you guys think?

I think we should at least try to start using timers more even if we cant do deathclock due to lack of chess clocks we should try to use the timed turns with extensions to get better with timing and dealing with stress under time constraints

I agree. League games will be perfect practice for that once the 2nd season gets underway

I would not mind running chess clocks for our tournaments and it may help with when we play in other locations. The difficult part is the cost... those clocks are pricey but we may be able to find a workaround as there are some chess clock apps for smart phones and tablets.
To be honest though if you have no issues with the time element in a standard timed turn format you will have few issues with deathclock... actually your game (especially low point games) can improve.
In the deathclock tournaments I have played in I have done very well. But I will say having beat several opponents because they have timed out is somewhat anti-climatic.
Anyway check on the chess clock apps and we can give the deathclock format a whirl.
