Hmm, what if I used an army...or airforce? haha. I think it'd be cool to just have IG aircraft as an army sometime. I might get the epic models to use for it over the summer. Does anyone else like the thought?

that would kind of be not fair as there are special rules for firing at aircraft in 40k which would make it almost impossible to even hurt your army.

Each time you shoot one down it can be 200-500 pts though...and it's not nearly impossible.

yeah, but you only get one pass with your army then it's gone, unless you take all valkyries

That's for ork special flyers. Normally it's rolled for as reserves, so he gets a free turn to move around and do stuff. Then it's the normal 4+. Those that pass can make another attack run on a 2+ every turn.

oh, that's right. i've only ever fought against fliers twice, on of which was a valkyrie, so my rules for them are a bit hazy. i thought the vtol engines let the valkyrie do multiple passes as opposed to being able to hover. now i remember.
but still, the few times i've played agains tthem, they've done little to no damage to my army, more of an annoyance than an actual power unit.

LOL. That'd be kinda fun. The objective is to try to bomb a fuel dump or something, while you try to shoot down my bombers. Much like "bomberz over the sulfur river" way back in the day.
