well, i'm bringing both marines and chaos, so i was going to join the side that needs more people. Plus as i said, you can be on either side.

Here's a little of the backstory for the champaign and a little about each side, so you all can pick which side you would rather be on.
THe planet Purgatus was a forge world which accounted for a number of vehicles used by the Imperium. Purgatus' foges produced everything from titans and mars class battlecruisers to leman russes and basilisks. It was also a large port for anyone travelig through the sector. However, shortly after the Gothic War, a plague swept through the entire planet and in less than three days everyone on Purgatus was infected. Normally the Imperium would virus bomb a planet such as this, but Purgatus was protected by an energy shield that prevents large scale troop landings as well as the aforementioned virus bombing. Purgatus was left behind as the Imperium felt their attentions were needed elsewhere.
After Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade and the loss of most of the planets near Cadia, the imperium went searching for any planets which would give them an edge over the invading Chaos forces. Commander Markas Sanctus of the Steel Paladins saw Purgatus as just the planet to fill this need and so requested aid from any that would help him in the reclaiming process.
The Enlightened: The Forces of the Enlightened consist of Commander Markas Sanctus and his Steel Paladins, in addition to any that will assist his forces in the retaking of Purgatus. The Steel Paladins are more than just any Space Marine Chapter, they are often referred to as "The Will of the Emperor."
The Infected: THe forces of the Infected consist of Prince Dread and his force, dubbed the Sickness, as well as any other force present on the planet at the time of the plague. Dread is unaware of Markas' plans, and is too busy working on a project of his own.
So you can see that each force can have any of the armies present in it. For example, a Tzeentch player may wish to play for the Enlightened because Tzeentch and Nurgle are enemies, or an eldar player can play for the Infected because they were enroute to another destination when the plague hit.
As for the point range, you can play as many points as you want in personal games.
