So it was a great battle, with 15,000 points of 40k on the table altogether. Everybody seemed to enjoy the game, mission, and each other. Rules inconsistencies and/or foibles were worked out easily enough without anyone launching across the table, AND we went all six turns in just under three anda half hours. Very nice, gentlemen.
In the end, there were some very fierce and sometimes one-sided battles fought over the Pathfinders, and each side captured two. Thus the battle ended in a draw, but it was very close; a last turn switch of results! Until the end it was Team 2 (Frizzel, Ian/Leg, Kent, Evan, Glenn, Curt) in a strong lead with almost four of them, but Team 1 (Ian, Alex, Tom, Andrew, August, Delso) stole two away in the nick of time.
Here is some action footage from the scene:
Pregame
Deployment
Game on!
The first Pathfinder found
Nobody has Fantasy today...you guys suck...
What is this...thing that has my leg!?
Strategic hiding...by the defiler
The obliterator takes aim for Glenn's mocking face in the distance
Brave...but foolish
Tau reinforcements!
The dogs picked up the objective...
...only to lose it in the next turn to a mob of Harlequins
A stubborn Bloodletter that hung around in combat for five rounds or so
Dark Eldar jetbikers having their bikes replaced by the tower of crotch power
...from which they jump to hump the poor Chaos Havocs to death (seriously, all dead, even for cover)
Remember those Tau in the bunker in the beginning? Well, they were kind of a team hero, what with holding up these two Talos ALL game, despite losing every single combat (I think)
Thanks for playing!
