The Nomad is a good generic jack, and his model is really good. The Mule is your choice for fire support. Otherwise, Magnus' jacks all seem pretty savage.

What are Magnus' spells? I've found in games when I use Long Gunners they are best with a 6'' snipe cast on them. Most people do anything to avoid the Long Gunners aisle of fire and with being able to pre-measure your control area at any time people will skirt just outside of the firing range - which gets old. It's nice to be able to shut down an entire section of board, but it's a lot of points to spend.
Can Magnus use Rhulic jacks? If so, the Driller could probably fit your requirements for 'another jack'. Just boost his first 'to hit' and hope for a critical to shut down major systems with a single shot. That shit can get crazy. If you hit a 5-6 column of damage with a boosted attack you could shut down 3 systems at once.

Only Rhulic casters can use Rhulic jacks. The Nomad is really good for its points. A heavy for 84 or so pts I think?
If you plan on that all being used at one time, 4 jacks for Magnus is a bit much. He'll run out of focus fast.

So a nomad, I will have to look into that...most of the merc warcasters seem to only get 6 focus...I didnt have a chance to look at any others.
