Honestly I'd take Immortals instead of Pariahs since 1) less points 2) even with warscythes, they are only I3 still and could very well die fast and 3) most importantly, pariahs don't count towards your overall number. Necrons need numbers.
Give the lord a res. orb, gaze of flame, phylactery, and warscythe. Have him walk right in the middle of your army (mass of metal bodies) and nothing will die, nor will being charged scare you much. If you want close combat power get wraiths or a tomb spyder.

I think it sounds like a good list but then again I have no experience in necrons, I have fought them once or twice and that regenerating thing is a pain in the ass and having tons of warriors is good too. The monolith is crazy...i will blast it.

orginally i had something like that...not using the veil and all...though i do like pariahs...immortals would do better...atleast until i upped up the total points

pah. everything will get shot up enough that they probably won't do much to him. Besides, the only thing that can insta-kill him is a desmolisher cannon. it is useful though

That's a cool army list all right, I'm not a huge fan of the warscythe, it's awefully expensive and you lose the shooting attack you'd normally get. It's not like it gives you a strength bonus, just ignore invulnerables. The lord has a power weapon standard, but the scythe is just if you know you have alot of inv saves to cut through. I think that the Immortals are quite possibly the most devistating troops available. But why don't they come in plastic!!!!!!!!!! BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

ya necrons can be a huge pain in the ass if the rolls are right on the we'll be back rule. that would suck if practically every roll the guys came back, it's like, "wow i killed that many for nothing...hmmm!"

Ha. A warsycthe is only 10 points that ignores ALL saves, while a power weapon is 15 points that only ignores armor saves...I'd take the warscythe.

I'm not really sure I know what you mean. There are no charachters in a necron army that can take wargear besides the lord. And he comes with a staff of light STANDARD issue. It has a shooting attack built in. So it's not cheaper, because you already paid for the staff, so the warscythe is an upgrade for the staff.
Why do they even show a price for the staff? No one can take it who dosn't already get it as part of their standard equipment.
