So as most of you know I have started an Imperial Guard Army...which will hopefully be ready by our 1st Annual Fall Tournament...so I can enter the tournament. I dont expect to win much but that dont matter to me. Anyways here are a few pictures of what I am working on. It is a heavy weapons squad with missile launchers and the command squad for a troop platoon. neither of these squads is anywhere near complete but you get the idea of the colors I am going for. Urban Camo and what not.

It would be an honor to have your Imperial Guard fight along side and slightly below my Tau as to better defend their betters. For the Greater Good naturally... ;D

I like the colour scheme. Going for an urban camo look, eh? By the way, do you know when the Fall campaign starts? ... So I can have my marines fully painted by then.

Yep urban camo is exactly what I was going for.
I am not sure if a campaign will be held this fall. We will hold a tournament...as to when it is...I am not sure the exec board should be making that decision probably in August. More than likely I am guessing it will be in October...as that will give us time to plan and what not...hope to see you there.

Just updating with some pics and such. This is a picture of the progress I have made since I last posted. As one can see not a whole lot...but for those of you who know me any progress is good progress because I never finish my armies. This pic is just to show the detail on the bases. I am trying the stuff adam uses to give my bases a muddier and gritty feeling (they will not be white like they are now).

After I took those pics I did a little more work and so I am updating again to keep myself motivated.

"Sir! We have no arms!" 'Cannon fodder don't need no arms, private! If something assaults you, kick it!" Glad to see that there''s more things for me to blow up good job!

haha. Yeah...my armies are notorious for lacking arms (half-stealthsuit firewarriors)...but I promise that these soldiers will recieve arms...in fact 5 or 10 of them should be getting arms before tomorrow night.

heh, yeah, it's easier to paint the details on the front of the models when the arms aren't attached. If I ever decide to do an army that's painted the way a Golden Daemon winner or the 'Eavy Metal team would, the arms, back pacs and heads would all get painted seperate from the body.... Actually... I've had my eye on the Forgeworld Elysian Drop Troops... but so expensive, especially to put together a proper guard army >.< maybe one day *sigh*

I know how you feel...I really like the Death Korps of Krieg figures forge world makes but no way I am spending that type of money...unless I win the lottery or something...even then I would probably still hesitate.
Update...they all have their Shadow Grey Armor painted...now just have to paint the cloth black and go over with camo scheme...no pics right now...maybe tomorrow.

The only thing I can think of would be grabbing a Cadian box, brushing up on my putty work ad then spring for the supplies necesary for rubber molds and resin casting... and no, not the latex build-a-mold from craft shops, talking about the good stuff: look up Polytek if the idea interests you.
And glad to hear that the army is coming along nicely... mine's been packed now, so I won't get back to it until Wednesday or so.

Yeah me and another club member have seriously talked about that...it just isnt cost effective while in college...nor right after college while looking for jobs that dont suck. But if you end up doing it..more power to you it really opens up an avenue for cheaper figures/accesories.
I will continue to update the progress on the army as it happens...gotta work tonight so not much will get done today.
