hideeho all,
I've had it in my mind for quite a wjile now to build a board based on the room of stairs in Labyrinth. Which was based on M.C. Escher's lithograph, "Relativity". I'm thinking a three foot cube mainly for use with the Kill Team rules. Why? because I'd like the movement to reflect that used in Labyrinth. Being able to wander along the walls, celings, variety of stair cases in a variety of orientations, doorways that teleport to other doorways. That sort of thing.
Pretty much, I can see this having to involve magnets on the bases of the minitures involved. And using either steel or magnetic paint on all the surfaces that are meant to be traversed. And there we have the reason for using only or mainly Kill Team rules... I'm afraid that metal minis would be too heavy in some cases (Daemon Princes, Grey Knight Terminators, that sort of thing comes to mind) to stay stuck in a horizontal or upside down position.
I was thinking of making the stairs and walkways at least 40mm wide as to acomidate some of the larger models. Thoughts anyone?
