Empire Army Painting and Repair progress

Alright many of you have had the pleasure of destroying my Empire army. Over the years they have been pretty beat up and I dont mean "in game"...I mean normal wear and tear. On thursday I noticed just how bad it was so I decided to start repairing them and finally finishing them. Empire was my first army when I started about 8-9 years ago.

Here are some pics of the stuff that has been recently completely repaired:



Basically all the swordsman have been repaired. I need to do some touchup painting and finish the new standard bearer. Also the banner is not the final product it was an experimental banner...I am trying to go with smaller banners as I dont like the gigantic ones that the empire troops usually carry...I might actually get rid of the banner altogether and try a roman standard instead which I think would look better.

In this pic you see a bunch of my stuff. Front Row Starting in the left with units not already mentioned: Spearman unit with some new basing, New spearman, and new standard bearer.
Back Row starting left: Militia Detach all figures have been repaired and based just need to finish painting.

Well thats it for this up date. I am hoping to get a 5-6 man strong unit of knights done tonight so hopefully pics of that tomorrow.

Don't really care for the banner. It just seems too small for me. Otherwise, glad its getting done, finally!

I am getting rid of that particualr banner and more than likely just going with roman type standards.

Are you seriously using a huge stack of porn magazines as a table? If you are, that is quite creative. Hell you can even hold up your gaming table if that's the case. Screw those metal stands you have. Just use your collection of Boner Squad magazines you cherish.

No, not using it as a table...sadly...that would be sweet. those are just on the shelf below the miniatures...also Playboy is not really even porn more as a gentleman's magazine.

Finally finished my small unit of knights, this unit will be used for small games and will be upgraded in larger games when I can also field my 10x Knight unit. This unit once represented white wolf but since white wolf is not good they will just be counted as regular knights.

Should paint them black, so they'd be night knights.

Nice looking. This means, by the time you are 45 Josh, you should have at least half your Empire army painted. Way to go.

Actually from now on Andrew all my knights are getting a wash of really watered down black to make them darker. So I am kinda goin to do what you said though I will never call them night knights. I will call your ultramarines SMURFS though. haha.

Matt, at this rate...I will hopefully have all my empire stuff done before April...this is as along as I dont get super busy with work again.
