Josh is the only one that knows anything about the tournament. There is no mention of it on their website anywhere, so I'm assuming it's not happening or Josh is simply on the inside (like he is with the girls). The campaign is called "Relic Hunters" and is complicated. Lotsa typing will be involved on that one. The campaign is happening mid-October. If its overly long don't worry about it, I'll pick it up from the store this...Friday probably.

Tournament- is a one day thing you pay 10$ dollars to play in it and you probably get some kind of prize...I learned of it today at OBG.
Campaign-is a free 4 week long series of games that is just for fun.

Hey,
Sorry I'm not posting more here, but now that the store is actually open most of my time is spent there, working up to 80 hours a week at the store. Plus I've been working on our own website:
on-boardgames.com
so please check that out, as I will be updating it more often than posting updates here.
Unfortunately I am not the miniature player among the two of us, so I can't give any exact details to what is going on. I know that there is a tournament planned, that John is planning to run a 40k campaign, and that we are scheduling days for WarMachine and Hordes players to get together, with discounts for the products on those days.
For more details please stop by the store, and please check out the website and feel free to register and utilize our forums. I will continue to improve the website as time allows so please be patient, but everything that's there should be up and running.
See you soon

Oh, and while I remember there is someone coming in to demo Dreamblade on Friday, it's a new release for Wizards of the Coast and is a painted miniature game. I wasn't impressed with the demo I got at GenCon, but after seeing it demoed tonight properly the game actually looks pretty decent. Feel free to come out Friday and learn how to play for free, no pressure to buy anything!

OK I have a real big suggestion for On Board Games. You guys need to get a Plastruct Display. Plastistruct is a plasticard manufacturer that creates sheets of styrene plastic for scratch building models and the such. Currently, I drive out to St. Charles to their Hobbytown USA for all my scratch building needs. But if you guys got a display I'd certainly buy everything from you. The display consists of a single turn-style model. It doesn't take up much space at all. It is linked here www.plastruct.com/Pages/RetailDisplays.htmlIt looks like there are several 'levels' of displays available ranging from every product that they make to less extensive selections. I would ensure that if you do get one, make sure it carries plenty of the 2.0mm sheets and a wide variety of the tubes.

I would have to agree with Vic on this one, it is nice for terrain and scenic bases.

Just wanted to get the word out to the miniatures club that we will be having a HorrorClix event at On Board Games on December 3rd. It's a 300 point tournament, but feel free to come by and learn how to play; we will have a Wizkid envoy there to give out demos on the game. Check out our forums for more details: www.on-boardgames.com/forum/

Sweet, I totally forgot we had our own thread. ROCK'N! Anyway, 40K Tourney went fantastically on sat. Andrew, Ian and August were there. August took first with Ian and Andrew in the top 5 (I think). Good Job by the club, and I wager if it wasn't over break we'd had more of you guys there. I really look forward to the next 40K event in late April and I hope to fit a fantasy event in there too, this time it won't be on psycho-tank-day

August - 1st with basically mechanized Tau Andrew - 4th with highly mobile Ultramarines Ian - 5th with lightning fast Dark Eldar ...of 26 contenders!
Notice how it's the highly mobile armies that did well. Two guys brought Gargantuan Tyranid creatures, and they didn't do that well. Take that, big money spenders, haha!

If I would have been in town I would have used my indestructable foot-slogging orks!!!!...yeah...not really
I would ave loved to have been able to use my orks, and probably hand my ass handed to me. (if I only had enough vehicles for a cult of speed...)
I'm glad you guys had such a great turnout.

Maybe I'll run my Armored Company some day. Anyway, could you post the rules for the Warmachine tournament coming up on the 27th? We have a thread on basically what each of us has 'heard' about it, but so far I don't think anyone has anything that's official.

Ok guys, so here's the post on the WARMACHINE/HORDES Tourney on the 27th:
Play like you 'got a pair in our first Warmachine/Hordes Tournament!
When: 1:00 pm Cost: $5 Entrance (or $12 purchase day-of)
This will be a 3/4-round swiss tournament. (depending on turnout.)
Tournament size: 500 pts Rounds will last 60 min 1st round: Pendulum 2nd round: Killing Field 3rd round: Assassins
Victory points will be recorded after each round. A player's record will determine overall winner for the day. The Steamroller system will be used: Win = 5 pts Draw = 3 pts Loss = 1 pt
PRIZES:
1st place: $30 jack/beast 2nd place: $15 support troop 3rd place: $10 solo
Good Luck Casters!
REALLY sorry about getting this out so late! To be honest I put off setting rules because I don't know much about the game yet. I didn't get my order in for the tourney-pack from Privateer in soon enough to be given out at the event but I ordered one so I'm gonna give out that stuff retro-actively. Anyway, should be good, I'll have to rely on you guys to self-regulate a bit...

Fuck. Yeah. So this is going to be a cross Warmachine and Hordes tournament?
Also, can you apply your winnings towards a box set? This would make it all the easier for me to buy my Hordes starter.
EDIT: Also, are we using the No Quarter 10 changes that they made public for Prime: Remix? I'll bring out printed FAQs for all of the factions and games to be on hand for any rules disputes, considering how much is decided on the Privateer forums.
