I recently joined the site and have played miniture games before. However, my soon to be wife has collected a 500 point force of Trollbloods and is almost done painting .She has never actually played the game of Hordes however and seeing how I never have either, sher would be very new to the game so to say. We were thinking of dropping by the tournament today so she can see how it is played in a more visual manner than just the explanation of the rulebook. If anyonew would be interested in playing some beginner games with her once she is done painting, I'm sure she would appreciate it. My name is Richard, i play Space marines my future wife's name is Audrey. I check here all the time to read what is new and hopefully will be able to come on the thursdays this fall during school. Hey Richard (and Audrey),
Members of the club would be more than happy to show you and Audrey how to play. That is mainly why the club exists to provide a comfortable atmosphere to play, learn and meet new friends. When meetings start up this fall, I believe the first meeting is Thursday August 30th at 5:30-Close. Just show up with your armies and find a warmachine/hordes player (we have an abundance of them) or talk to one of the exec board members (the guys wearing the NIMGC shirts) and they will try to get some games going with you to teach you the fundamentals. Anyways Welcome and hope to see both of you at the meetings.

Hey Rich, this is Vic - we met earlier today at the tournament. I would be more than happy to give you guys a course in how to play Warmachine (it's extremely simple). I can play you in an easy to manage 500 point with my Warmachine army (to see how the games differ) or I can play a 350 game with my own Trollbloods so you can see how Hordes works against Hordes.
Our Thursday's may be taken up by playing Summer Rampage games (the current campaign). But if you'd like to set up another time to play I'd be more than happy to meet you two.

That would be fine. Audrey has her whole army base coated and doesn't have much more to paint. She wants to get playing quick i think after seeing it today which gave her some motivation. We'll see when she gets them done this week if she does. Otherwise one of the days after i'm off work or a day I am off next week would work fine probably. Update ya later on that.

Sounds great, I work on Tuesday - but as far as I know I should be free otherwise.
EDIT: Me and Jess aren't going to be able to make it in on Thursday, afterall. Rich, if you or Audrey wanted to get together just give me an e-mail at megaman@niu.edu and let me know when you guys are free. Perhaps all four of us could meet up and play some?
